Welcome to this short-term meditation.
Which I call.
The river of life.
In this meditation,
We're going to explore our existence,
Our experience of living.
From the standpoint.
Of a witness watching a river.
Right now.
This meditation that you are listening to.
In reality.
Is just an experience.
No different from any other sound,
Sensation,
Perception.
Or emotion.
We can say that everything that you experience is.
In the river of your life.
Where everything that appears also disappear.
Everything that shows up in this river.
Also flows away.
Whether it's an emotion,
Whether it's a person.
Whether it's a specific day.
An achievement.
Or a sickness.
Without the need to.
Think about this deeply.
You'll know.
That life is made.
Of impermanent experience.
No experience that you had when you were five or ten.
Is still happening right now.
And even if there are similar experiences,
They are not exactly the same.
The River of Life.
Have never the exact same composition.
Notice this.
Recognise this fact.
The river of life.
Our experience of existing is impermanent.
What does this mean?
What does this imply?
It implies that.
.
.
Whatever you are looking for.
Whether it's freedom.
Or peace.
Or love.
Or happiness.
If you are looking for it.
In the stream of your experiences.
You might in best case.
Only find it temporary.
Meaning that you might Have an experience.
That feels like love.
But it will pass,
Like everything else.
Or you might find a situation that feels like freedom.
But it will pass.
Like everything else.
You might.
Find yourself in a chapter of life that feels peaceful.
But that too will pass,
Like exactly everything else.
We know this.
All of us intuitively in the background know this for sure.
Nothing lasts.
Yet we obsessively search.
For lasting peace,
Happiness.
In the ever-changing river.
And the reason we do that.
Is because we think we have no other choice.
The reason we do that.
Is that we have cultured it.
Collectively.
Forgotten.
About the witness.
We have forgotten about ourselves.
The one that is experiencing the river of life.
Right now.
Naturally.
Most of your attention goes to my words,
To your experiences,
To your feelings,
Emotions,
Sensations.
But very rarely.
Your attention visits you.
So rarely.
That you barely know what I mean by you.
So let's do that now.
Let's turn attention.
To the witnessing presence.
To the you.
That is not a sensation.
Or a name or an idea.
Or a feeling or a perception.
Let's turn your attention to the you that is aware of all of this.
Turn your attention to the You.
That is aware.
Of your body and mind.
Meditate.
The you that is aware of this ever-changing moment.
This ever-changing river.
And right now,
Maybe your mind says,
I don't know where to look.
But ironically.
.
.
Even that sentence.
Is watched by you.
You are the beholder,
The witness.
Of even your own doubt.
Whether you feel like you found it,
Whether you feel like you can't find it,
You're watching.
You are here.
As the beholder of this moment,
This river.
So therefore,
Your attention cannot find you as a thing.
But more like a presence,
A space.
And awareness.
So turn your attention now.
Towards this presence of awareness.
Towards yourself.
And keep it here.
Keep noticing,
Keep attending to your being.
During which the river of life will continue to flow.
Thoughts coming in,
Perceptions,
Emotions.
Sensations,
Ideas.
Let them flow.
Lose interest for a moment.
And be fascinated.
With your own being.
What are you?
When you are witnessing your own character meditating.
What is the you?
That is here.
Yet cannot be found as a thing.
Don't answer my questions with words.
Instead.
Become aware.
Of the answer.
Become one with the ants.
Because you are the answer.
To this question.
You are that.
Which neither your or my mind can describe.
You are the presence which attention cannot truly find.
Yet,
You are witnessing the attention.
You are the space.
The consciousness in which the river of life flows.
You are untouched by me.
You are the changeless.
The essence.
You are the most important ingredient in the existence of this moment.
While at the same time.
We cannot grasp you.
I cannot define.
Bask in your own being.
And soon.
Your body will show you.
Your mind will show you.
That when you are at home in your being.
When you are in recognition.
Of who you are.
You are.
The source.
Of happiness.
Source of peace.
A source of safety.
Love.
And from here.
You're also one.
With anyone else.
And all of life.
And before we.
.
.
Conclude our meditation.
I want to make you aware.
But this meditation.
As we said earlier.
Is just an experience.
Appearing.
In your river of life,
In your flow of experience.
But this meditation can be seen.
As a mirror.
And while this mirror is flowing you by.
In the river of life.
You have the opportunity.
To see your true being.
And even as this meditation,
This mirror,
Is coming to an end.
The witness.
Your true being.
That has been reflected during this session.
Will not come to an end.
So whatever comes next in the river of life,
Whatever chapter appears in your experience,
You can now remain aware.
Of their life.
Of the truth.
Of the indescribable mystery.
That you truly are.
And knowingness.
You will have a whole new perspective.
And relationship.
To the chapters.
That appear.
Namaste.
