Hi everyone and welcome back to Simran Meditation.
Today's session is called Wide Open Space and while this is a guided meditation that is suitable for relaxation,
In a way it is also a self investigation.
It has the potential to give you much more clarity about your own true nature.
Start by closing your eyes,
Whether you're sitting or lying down,
Doesn't matter.
Just close your eyes,
Take a couple of deep breaths and relax.
During this exercise,
During this guided meditation,
We will view you as an open space,
As an unconscious open space and we will be exploring first of all the content of this space.
So close your eyes,
Relax and follow me with your attention.
Start by noticing with your attention that in this space of you there are sounds.
Notice that sounds appear and disappear in this space.
Notice that my voice appear and disappear in this space.
Let's see what else is here.
Now give your attention to the appearance of visions,
Of images or maybe memories or just abstract colors.
Whatever you're seeing,
Notice that some kind of visions are here appearing and disappearing in the same space.
And now let's move on and give your attention to the appearance and disappearance of thoughts.
Notice that also thoughts come and go in this space,
In this conscious aware space.
Whatever is going on in the stream of thoughts,
Just notice that they too appear and disappear in this space.
Notice that within this space there is a sense of emotion floating around.
Maybe it feels sometimes like this emotion is filling out the whole space and sometimes it feels smaller morphing around.
Whatever it is,
Just notice that in this space,
In this conscious aware space,
There is also emotion.
Notice also the presence of taste and smell being experienced in the same space.
And even your sense of having a body,
Having legs and arms and head and chest and belly,
All of these sensations are actually appearing and disappearing in the same space,
In your consciousness,
In the awareness.
Notice now that the whole present moment,
Everything in the realm of your experience is actually appearing and disappearing in this space,
In your consciousness.
Today we're not only interested in the content,
In the experiences,
In the appearances and disappearances.
We are mainly interested in the space itself,
In the consciousness,
In the awareness.
So now pay some attention to the space itself.
Let us get to know it.
Go on now and explore the size of this space.
See how big it is.
Can you find any borders to this space?
And if you can,
What is beyond that border?
Or is the border just an image,
An idea,
A vision?
See that this conscious space,
This awareness,
Is sizeless,
Has no beginning and an end.
And notice now that even though every content in this space comes and goes,
The space itself have no duration.
It never appears and never disappears.
Thoughts come and go,
Opinions come and go,
Feelings come and go,
Insights come and go,
And sensations come and go.
But the space itself always remains.
Feel this for yourself.
Discover this for yourself.
Let us move on.
What else can we find out about this space?
Is this space bound to any emotion?
See for yourself that all emotions come and go,
But the space remains.
See that this space is not attached to any emotion.
See that it's also not attached to any thoughts.
Whatever kind of thought that come and go,
The space remains untouched.
See that this space is not even touched by any sensation,
Pain,
Smell or taste,
Nothing.
See that everything within this space appears and disappears.
And even though they might leave a trace in the body sensation or in the thoughts,
They don't leave any trace in the space.
See now for yourself that you as this conscious space,
As the awareness that contains the present moment,
See for yourself that you're free,
That you're sizeless,
Shapeless,
Present,
Weightless,
Open,
Present,
Without judgment,
With no resistance.
See your true nature.
And if you are ready,
You might even notice that you have always been this space.
That this space is where all your dreams have appeared and disappeared.
Is also where all of your life,
Your memories,
Your visions,
Your birthdays,
Your relationships have appeared and disappeared.
You might notice that this space is the only constant.
That everything else comes and goes within this space.
Notice now how effortlessly we revealed your inherent,
Natural and always present meditative dimension.
This is the real you.
And if you have the guts,
If you dare to see,
Then open your eyes slowly while knowing that whatever you open your eyes to is still appearing in that space.
Your thoughts and your mind might tell you that you are now in a room while your soul,
Your essence and your consciousness knows that this room just appeared in you.
That you are the infinite.
Now looking in through an avatar into this room.
