Hi there!
I have a special treat for you.
I'm gonna pull you a card.
I'm here with my eight-month-old baby whose name is Gogi.
Can you say hi,
Gogi?
He doesn't know how to talk yet,
But he's here hanging out with us.
If you hear his baby rattle in the background,
Don't be worried,
He's just sitting here playing.
Are you ready for me to pull you a card?
Let's count down together.
Three,
Two,
One.
The card you got today was the wishing tree and it says a message just for you.
It says,
My wishes grow big like a tree.
Hey,
That means that your wishes can grow big like a tree also.
Listen carefully as I shuffle the cards.
See if you can hear it.
It's a tiny,
Tiny sound.
The wishing tree has a super special message for you today.
The wishing tree says that any of your wishes in this life can come true.
What do you think about that?
Isn't that really wonderful?
Listen very carefully as we walk through the park and see if we can find a really good tree that can help us with our wishes today.
This is something that you could do with mom and dad,
Grandma and grandpa,
Or whoever in your family takes care of you sometimes.
My wishes grow big like a tree,
The wishing tree.
Find some colored ribbons that are very,
Very long,
Longer than your whole body,
And think about a wish that you would like to be or do or have,
Like a new toy truck,
Or to run really fast in the park,
Or to have a special stuffed animal to sleep with at night.
What is your favorite thing,
And what do you really want to have,
Or do,
Or be?
Maybe you would like to have blue hair.
Think about your wish right now,
And on the count of three,
Say your wish out loud or say it in your head.
One,
Two,
Three.
Hold the ribbon in both hands near your heart and make a wish.
Now,
Go outside and pick a tree that you like,
A tree that seems like it would be a really good friend,
And walk over to the tree and tie the ribbon around there with your wish.
Imagine you could put your wish there on the tree.
What would you say to it?
What would you say to the tree?
Gogi's biggest wish right now is to be able to eat a thousand cookies,
But he's just a baby,
So he has to wait a little while for that one.
What's your biggest wish?
Contrary to what some people may have told you,
You can share your wish with other people.
It's okay.
You can also keep it a secret if you want to.
Once you tie that wish around the tree,
Make sure to go back and visit it and clean up your mess once you're done.
We want to respect nature and make sure that we treat it with loving kindness.
Once you get your wish,
You can take the ribbon down.
Gogi says big thank you,
And so do I.
We hope you come back.
Yeah,
We hope you come back sometime and hang out with us again while you get to learn all about how to make your wishes come true.
Bye-bye!
