In the fast moving world in which we live,
It is important to take time for yourself to stop,
Sit and let your mind empty and to be at peace.
This short meditation is designed to do just that after a busy day.
Find a comfortable place to sit with a straight back or lying down.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in.
Breathe out.
Take a moment to settle into your body as you rest in this peaceful place.
Let your mind drift as you focus and follow my words.
This is your time.
You have worked hard today.
It is time to relax and let go.
Take another deep breath in.
Hold for the count of two.
One,
Two.
Gently release.
Allow yourself just to sit in the present moment.
Release all thought.
Inhale deeply.
Hold for two.
One,
Two.
Release smoothly.
Focus on the inhale and exhale of your breath.
Let the rise and fall of your breath,
Let any tension melt away.
Inhale one.
Exhale two.
If thoughts enter your mind,
Let them drift in and drift out.
Do not follow the thought,
Only let it drift away.
Focusing on the sound of my voice,
The vibrations of the music.
Inhale one.
Exhale two.
Notice any areas of your body you feel the tension.
Start at the top of your head.
Notice if you are holding any tension.
Exhale and exhale out any tension you have in this area.
Move down to your forehead.
Are you holding any stress?
Inhale.
Then breathe out the stress.
Move down to your mouth.
Put a warm smile on your lips.
Feel the warmth move around your body.
Scan your shoulders.
Lots of tension can be held here.
Inhale one.
Exhale two.
Letting go of any tension.
Move down to your heart.
Placing your hands on your heart.
Breathing loving kindness.
Inhale one.
Energizing your body.
Exhale two.
Relaxing your body.
This is your time.
After a long busy day the mind can be very full.
Follow the rhythm of your breath as it flows in and out.
Release and let go of your busy day.
Relax your breath.
Sometimes the pressures of a busy day can make us feel overwhelmed.
It's important to focus on self-care.
It's important to take a few moments for yourself.
To relax.
To recharge.
To unwind.
Remind yourself that you can achieve what needs to be accomplished in the day.
You are calm.
You are peaceful.
You are giving yourself this time.
Take one final deep breath in.
And exhale softly.
Feel your toes touching the ground.
Wiggle them gently.
When you are ready,
Slowly come back into the room by gently opening your eyes.
Opening your fingers.
Listening to the music as it fades away.
You are now ready to continue your day.
Feeling peaceful.
Feeling content.
