Hello,
And welcome to Daily Balm.
If you desire to calm your busy mind,
Then join me for this prayer and guided meditation.
Take a moment and find a comfortable seated or lying down position.
Once you're settled,
Soften your gaze or close your eyes completely as we take the journey in,
Breathing in and out.
Feel the eyes of your heart opening up as you meet God heart to heart,
Spirit to spirit,
Breath to breath.
Feel the coolness of the breath flow in through your nostrils and the warmth as you slowly release the breath.
Feel yourself surrendering to slow rhythmic breathing.
As you notice your body begins to relax from the inside out.
Inhale.
Exhale.
As you surrender a little bit more,
Notice your arms,
Your legs and your feet.
They all begin to soften as you surrender in the arms of the Father.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
As you allow God's warm embrace to comfort you.
Notice your hands and your wrists.
Your ankles and your belly.
Your back and your neck.
And your head begins to soften as you breathe slowly and more deeply.
Feel yourself drifting off as you rest in the arms of God.
And as you rest,
Notice the grip of mental tension and stress wrapped around your mind and your body slowly begin to soften.
The pressure becomes less and less and the heat from the mental strain begins to dissipate.
Feel coolness wash over you.
And the light of Christ warming your mind and your body with comfort and ease.
Release God's love and his light as it breaks through the busyness in your mind.
As you breathe,
Allow your body to settle and relax with the words from John 14 one.
Do not let your heart be trouble.
Believe in God.
Believe also in me.
You are subtle and your mind is calm.
As you breathe,
Your mind becomes calm and fear releases its grip when you embrace the words from Psalms 54 verse one.
When I am afraid,
I will put my trust in you.
Breathe and relax.
And do not be afraid.
As you breathe,
Your spirit is made strong when you recall Isaiah 43 verse two.
When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you.
And through the rivers,
They shall not overwhelm you.
When you walk through fire,
You shall not be burned.
And the flame shall not consume you.
Rest in the word of God.
Allow God's word to be a balm,
A healing balm from the mental stress,
The worries,
And the cares of this world.
Rest in truth.
Rest in the strength that God provides.
I leave you with this prayer from Jude 1 verse 2.
Now,
May mercy,
Peace,
And love be multiplied to you.
Shalom.
Amen.
