This guided meditation discusses, activates, and integrates the second Yama, Satya, Truth. Swami Kripalu says to practice truth, we practice decreasing our untruths with silence. Through this practice of silence, one learns the practice of discrimination, learning what to say, when to say it and how to say it. In this guided yoga practice, we will observe silence with discrimination to create new habits and ways of being (samskaras) that are in alignment with Satya, Truth.

You you you you you you you Now adjust your body in salamba shavasana supported corpse pose You may cover yourself with a blanket and place an eye pillow over your eyes and begin to release the feet apart allowing the big toes to drop out towards the little toes If necessary use the hands to adjust the buttocks away from the waist elongating the base of the spine and the sacrum You can adjust the neck by using your hands to pull the base of the skull elongating it away from the neck and dropping the chin closer to the sternum allow the arms to rest about 45 degrees away from the torso the palms facing up Now turn the inner upper arms to the outer upper arms and release the arms so that the thumbs are closer to the floor than the small fingers Now take a deep breath in through the nose Now through the mouth with the sigh and release the arms to the upper upper arms release the arms so that the thumbs are closer to the floor than the small fingers one more deep breath in through the nose exhale let go even more yoga is the process of stilling all the fluctuations of the mind As we continue to drop deeper into ourselves into awareness into yoga obstacles will be presented along the way These obstacles are created by nothing other than the mind itself The mind creates obstacles to grab our attention trying to get us to go deeper within trying to teach us how to understand itself the mind Once the mind and all of its modifications are thoroughly understood it no longer creates obstacles Then when the mind no longer creates obstacles the seer the sadhak you rests in your own true nature So yoga is the practice and the process of stilling these fluctuations of the mind Within the process we are filtering out the nonsense that obstructs truth Untruth is an impurity of the mind coming from excessive talking all day This incessant flood of speech makes us prone to the bad habit of speaking untruth Babaji Swami Kripalu says to practice truth we practice decreasing our untruths He gives two steps to the practice of obtaining this truth The first is practicing silence and the second is practicing discrimination This silence retrains the mind and behavior from easily expressed potent thoughts that could lead to unnecessary untruthful or even harmful speech and actions Through this practice of silence one learns the practice of discrimination Learning what to say,

When to say it through the filters of ahimsa non-violence and satya,

Truth So through this yoga practice we observe silence and discrimination to begin to create a new habit or samskara of the embodiment of truth Now if they're not already begin to close the eyes and turn your attention inward We are embarking on a journey of witnessing and understanding the mind and all of its modifications Give yourself fully to this innate intelligence residing within you Feel the whole body relax,

Trust and let go Feel a deep sense of curiosity and interest washing over you In this very relaxed unified state allow yourself to receive this intention energetically and let it resonate into every cell of your being I rest in my silent source of being,

I observe my ever-changing thoughts with discrimination and contemplation I simply notice the unnecessary and untruthful chatter running through my mind,

I rest in awareness Trust that this intention has been heard by the innate intelligence within you,

Any shifts or changes that need to take place to align with satya,

Truth will happen spontaneously and effortlessly,

Now let go of any effort to make anything happen Now bring your body into awareness Feel your whole body heavy,

Sinking,

Melting into the earth Feel both feet sinking,

Widening,

Calves and knees melting,

Heavy,

Spreading Thighs and hips very heavy,

Expanding and merging into the earth like a drop of water Abdomen,

Chest and back,

Gravity pulling you down and deeper Observe all the organs in the abdomen and torso,

Sinking and spreading into gravity Feel your shoulders and arms heavy like lead Both palms,

Hands,

Widening,

Sinking Feel your entire head merging into the earth Give your body completely and totally to Mother Earth's omnipresent field of gravity Feel your whole body completely supported and protected where you can safely and deeply rest Feel how restful and calm you are Now bring your attention to the pit of the throat,

Release any holding in the pit of the throat Releasing all sides of the neck and the esophagus and allow the tongue to rest back in the mouth Soften the mouth cavity completely,

Relax the tongue away from the upper palate to the lower palate Release the jaw completely,

Feeling the chin drop towards the neck And the lower ears sinking,

The cheekbones and the base of the nasal passage spreading,

Widening Now unclench the teeth completely,

Feel the tiny muscles around the lips softening,

Releasing The forehead skin expanding towards the hairline and the eyebrows completely letting go And observe the third eye totally relaxed and the temples softening,

Releasing Now relax the upper and lower eyelids and allow the eyes to rest back heavy in their sockets,

Gravity pulling them down Feel the skin on the back of the head broadening,

Melting toward each ear And observe the crease behind the ears,

Feeling it melting towards the floor And the eardrum softening,

Widening Now drop into the energy body through the medium of sensations With your body completely relaxed,

Attune your attention to the subtle vibrations buzzing,

Tingling,

Everywhere Notice how your attention to the energy body allows the energy to grow and expand Energy follows attention Now rest your inner gaze on the center between the eyebrows and drop into that silent source of your being All thought,

All content of the mind dissolving into stillness And rest in your own true nature And as we enter this next phase,

Allow any disturbances or distractions,

Whether external or internal,

To draw you deeper within Without changing it or controlling it,

Bring your attention to the rising and falling of the breath And simply observe the depth of each inhalation,

And observe the length of each exhalation Simply witness the body and breathe itself And then on your next exhalation,

Begin to elongate the outgoing breaths just slightly Without any force or strain,

Allow the exhalations to be longer than the inhalations And observe this prolonged exhalation for the next few breaths Now bring your attention to the bottom floating ribs as you continue to breathe And on your next inhalation,

Begin to expand the floating ribs out to the sides of the room Notice how this expansion effortlessly fills your lungs from the bottom to the top And as you breathe out,

Observe the lungs empty from the top to the bottom and the floating ribs merging back into the central part of the body Continue breathing in this way,

Slow and steady And with each breath out,

Release any tension in the body,

Any mental thoughts or fluctuations in the mind And let go Breathe out any holdings in the body And let this entire process of breathing be the vehicle for deepening your relaxation And as you inhale,

Expand the lower ribs out,

Continuing to breathe all the way up into the upper chest and collarbones Let the exhalations be long,

Slow and steady,

Emptying the lungs completely And begin to maintain an even tone of breath,

An even rhythm of breathing This is an induction technique,

A willful practice of slow,

Deep,

Rhythmic inhalations and exhalations Continue on your own If the body gets fatigued or the breath becomes strained or the mind agitated,

Return to your normal breathing and continue with deep breathing when your body is once again ready Be absorbed in the rhythm of your breath And let the sound of your breath resonate and vibrate through all layers of your body and being And on your next inhalation,

Simply notice the soft pause at the top of the breath And on your next breath out,

Notice the soft pause at the bottom of the exhalation And when breath stops,

Mind stops,

Unnecessary,

Untruthful thoughts stop Each time your breath stops,

Empty your mind and all of its contents into the field of silence Let go As the breath naturally stops for a longer period of time,

Allow it to happen but do not force Continue observing the breath and its soft pauses on your own,

Merging into stillness And now gently allow your breath to return to normal Bring your attention to rest in the third eye,

The pineal gland deep inside the brain And draw deeper into the eyebrow center And feel the generated energy move inward and upward to the third eye Let rest in the vastness,

The silence,

Your own true nature And now shift from thinking and doing to feeling and being And remain completely still,

Completely relaxed And drop into that silent space where all doing stops And the whole body letting go,

Let go even more And observe the body completely relaxed and comfortable as you hand your mind over to the subsequent functions of prana Feel the guiding force and the protecting energy being awakened,

Fully liberated,

Functioning freely and optimally now And surrender the impurities of the mind to the innate intelligence of prana And remain in a curious and interested state of non-doing and simply allow meditation to happen And now And now And now And in this very relaxed unified state allow yourself to receive this intention energetically Letting it now integrate into the DNA strands of your being I rest in my silent source of being I observe my ever-changing thoughts with discrimination and contemplation And simply notice the unnecessary and untruthful chatter running through my mind,

My rest and awareness And trust that this intention,

This level of self-observation has been received and integrated Feel the frequency of silence and discrimination being assimilated and adopted by all levels of your body and being Completely integrated,

Totally digested,

Fully actualized,

Rest in your own true nature And at this sacred moment your whole being has experienced a major shift And trust that this shift has formed new samskaras,

New impressions within every layer of your being And establish yourself in total trust and faith that remains free from any criticism,

Judgment or control And at this time feel the presence of your own spiritual guides,

Your guru or the presence of the Lord surrounding you now And trust that this presence surrounds you always guiding you,

Supporting you through this practice of satya,

This practice of truth And if there is any insight or any sense of knowing to be received at this time about your mind and its modifications of untruth Just rest in the third eye and let it be received now And let it be received now you you you you you you gradually and slowly begin to rise to the surface of awareness awareness and simply bring your awareness to the skin boundary of the body and feel the quality of the air touching the skin without changing it notice the rhythm of your breathing now notice how relaxed and quiet it is now take a slow steady inhalation through the nose and a slow smooth exhalation through the mouth gradually emerging from a deep meditation gradually beginning to move and allowing your hands to eventually rest comfortably on your torso and regardless of what you consciously recognize that has or hasn't changed know that something very deep within has shifted connecting you with this intention I rest in my silent source of being I observe my ever changing thoughts with discrimination and contemplation I simply notice the unnecessary and untruthful chatter running through my mind I rest in awareness and anytime you observe your speech being excessive untruthful or hurtful you are empowered to rest back in this state of silence and discrimination and as you establish yourself in the practice of silence and discrimination your words your posts your speech will effortlessly flow through you through the filters of sweetness benefit and truth for all now raise your right arm above your head and gently begin to roll over onto your right side resting your head into your arm and as you begin to push yourself up to a seated position establish yourself in this state of silence and discrimination continuing to stay in this deep inner experience and slowly make your way to a comfortable seated position with the hands in Namaskarasan in front of the heart let the truth of who you are come from your heart center manifesting through your voice as we join our voices in a continuous AUM together take a slow deep breath in through the nose and breathe out through the mouth inhale through the nose AUM AUM AUM AUM AUM With the eyes closed can you see how observing silence develops the habit of practicing self observation with self observation Did you notice the amount of unnecessary and untruthful babble of thoughts polluting your mind through the deliberate yoga practices we did today.

Did you notice the polluting thoughts began to still and settle.

Can you begin to understand now how this practice of yoga is truly a practice of purifying the mind field allowing you to rest in your own true nature May the benefits of this practice of yoga carry through all you think all you say all you do May your spirit be victorious Jai Bhagwan

This practice guides me to a deep awareness- opening me up to states of being that are profound and healing.
