From Chez Pinata,
I'm Colleen Thomas.
This is daily magic for peace.
Today we will celebrate blue skies over golden wheat fields.
Welcome to the circle.
Today all you need is a blue crayon and a yellow crayon and it's fine to use colored pencils or markers or anything like that.
You could also use any kind of app on your phone that lets you draw.
To begin today I would really love to go back to do some straw breathing with you.
What we're going to do is we're going to take two breaths together.
The first time we'll breathe in,
Just breathe in very deeply,
And then when we breathe out we're going to pretend like we're breathing out through a straw.
So we'll purse our lips and blow the air out and this will take a while.
What this does is it creates a bit of resistance and the end result when we're finished is that you should feel like you have some more space to breathe in your chest than before.
So let's breathe out first,
Everything out,
And then take a deep breath in and now breathe out through those purse lips through that straw,
That imaginary straw.
Okay and when everything is out just breathe back in nice and deeply and then out again through the straw.
Great and just maybe notice now how do you feel?
Is this an exercise that would benefit you in other parts of your life?
We're going to be dealing with the Ukrainian flag today and honoring the spirit of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people and whenever I think of the Ukrainian people I am immediately drawn to the immediately drawn to the third chakra because it's that bright golden yellow color and because it is very bold and it is where we stand up for what we believe in.
So I would love to invite you to join me in energizing your third chakra if that feels like something you'd like to do right now.
So let's just breathe into that third chakra again it's at the solar plexus breathing in deeply seeing that third chakra brighten,
Brighten,
Brighten and then breathing out,
Releasing.
It's releasing anything you don't need from that space.
Anybody who might have their opinions in your space you can let go and breathing back in brightening,
Brightening.
This is where your will,
Your desire,
The way that you are bold shows up and let's release again anything you don't need cleaning out,
Clearing out that third chakra and last time breathing in really bold now breathing into your boldness,
Your bravery,
The ways that you show up in the world and when that feels good just just just release.
Wonderful.
So let's take our blue and yellow crayons now and some paper or if you're on your phone get your drawing app open and we are going to just very simply draw the Ukrainian flag today and as we draw it I'm going to talk us through some of the things I've learned about it.
So I'm sure I don't need to tell you this because you've been seeing the Ukrainian flag everywhere but it's two colors it's yellow and blue,
A blue stripe on the top and a yellow stripe on the bottom and just begin to draw the flag.
I'm going to draw it with you.
So in 1918 the flag was arranged this way with these two colors yellow and blue to represent blue skies over golden wheat fields.
So as you draw the yellow part know that you are representing golden wheat fields and reflecting on this as we've been hearing in the news the war in Ukraine the war in Ukraine has begun to cause what they're anticipating to be a global food shortage.
So this wheat that we are representing with the yellow is a symbol of sustenance and support that extends beyond the borders of Ukraine that extends to the world.
My crayons sound kind of loud don't they that's because I'm using colored pencils.
So this is probably going to be the next big crisis as we've all been watching this unfold.
So as you draw these wheat fields I invite you to reflect on the way wheat shows up in your life.
Are you somebody who eats wheat?
Are you somebody who bakes?
Are you somebody who maybe sells bread or another wheat product?
And how is your life maybe different than somebody else in another part of the planet?
If there is a global wheat shortage will it be a problem for you?
Will it be more of a problem maybe for other people and in different areas?
Just thinking about the inner relatedness and interconnectivity of all of us on the planet as you draw this wheat this yellow stripe that represents this food that we share this way that we are interconnected with others on the planet.
And now moving on to the sky the blue skies over the golden wheat fields the blue skies the blue part of the flag.
When Ukraine was a communist country it had the red banner of the Soviet Union with the hammer and sickle but it also had a blue stripe on the bottom just for Ukraine.
But then in 1991 after Ukraine got its independence some people wanted the communist flag to stay but the anti-communist group won out and now they have the blue and yellow flag.
So here's the sky above the golden wheat fields the sky that has been full of drones and planes and missiles and anti-aircraft missiles for the past few months.
The sky that should be blue the sky that has been gray and full of smoke and full of sorrow.
So filling in this blue sky until you have this blue sky over the golden wheat fields.
And let's just take a moment and look at this drawing look at this drawing that you have just drawn.
And connect to your third chakra to this boldness that we worked with a little bit ago this place where you show up and you're strong and you're bold and you're brave and you say what you mean.
And I invite you to take a little bit of that energy that you have inherently in you and take it and put it into your heart and your mind and your soul and your heart and your soul and I invite you to take a little bit of that energy that you have inherently in you your own will the way you show up naturally in the world and share it share a little bit of the light from your third chakra with the people of Ukraine sending them some of your strength today.
Brightening their flag just a little bit more standing on that good earth beneath that wonderful blue sky in those wheat fields standing alongside them in your heart.
May it be so.
Thank you so much for being with us today.
Your presence your energy and your heart make all the difference in healing our world.
Remember to breathe today breathe and expand and I hope you join us again next time.
Please consider inviting a friend.
