Hello and welcome to this guided meditation for the winter solstice.
The winter solstice is a very powerful time.
It is a time when the nights are the longest for us,
But also is a time for celebrating the return of the light of the sun as from here on out the days will begin to get longer.
So in this meditation we'll do a little bit of both,
Acknowledging our shadow and also celebrating the coming of the light.
So when you're ready,
Go ahead and relax and close your eyes.
Begin to breathe gently,
Allowing yourself to relax,
Sinking down into the ground.
Acknowledge anything that comes up for you,
Any thoughts,
Feelings,
Emotions.
Accept everything that comes up.
And this is just a simple acknowledgement.
You don't have to engage,
You don't have to do anything about them.
Just accepting whatever comes up.
Continuing to sink down,
Relaxing more and more,
Bring to mind anything from the past year that you'd consider a shadow,
That you'd consider one of your darker moments.
Again,
Accept and acknowledge anything that shows up.
Anything that comes from your shadow,
Send love to.
Love and acceptance.
Think about what lessons these shadow moments contain.
In what ways do they help you become a better person,
Become a better version of yourself?
What do you learn from them?
Send gratitude to all these moments.
For helping you to become a better version,
For helping you to learn more about yourself.
Those shadow moments turn into lessons to help us grow and help us to enjoy more of the sun of the light.
When you're ready,
Begin to acknowledge that the days will start to become longer.
Imagine yourself celebrating the return of the light.
And now,
Imagine yourself letting go of anything that you need to.
What are some things that you would like to release during this winter solstice?
Now think of some things that you would like to bring in for the new year,
For the return of the light.
Just imagine what all that would feel like.
If you were able to release those things,
If you were able to bring in those things,
What would it feel like?
What would it look like?
What would it look like?
When you're ready to come back from the meditation,
Take a few moments to stretch your body,
Breathing in deeply,
Exhaling deeply.
Just feel all your senses returning.
You can come back out of the meditation by taking a deep inhale,
Holding at the top for a moment,
And then exhale and open your eyes.
Thank you all for being a part of this meditation.
Have a great day.
Namaste.
