I Am Worthy Meditation
by Selena Lael
Meet yourself with compassion and acceptance in this loving guided meditation. So many of us carry this deep seed of feeling unworthy. But what if this is not true? What if you are lovable and worthy just as you are? What if there is nothing wrong with you, and you can feel peace in this moment? Relaxing music by Sounds of Nidra

I'm so grateful to be together,
Invite you to find a comfortable seated position or to find a comfortable position lying down,
Whatever serves you best right now.
Close the eyes or if that's uncomfortable,
Have the gaze relaxed,
Looking down.
So your awareness can start to move to your inner world.
Slow your breathing down,
Deepen it.
Inhale feel this expansion through the belly and the chest.
Exhale feel the legs,
The hips softening down.
Continue breathing slowly and deeply and with each exhalation,
Invite a sense of ease into an area of the body.
You might also experience this in the mind,
A sense of letting go or in the emotions.
Maybe there's a feeling of permission,
Allowing whatever is here to be here.
Allow a space between the teeth and the lips,
Feel your throat softening.
I invite you to gently repeat to yourself,
Whatever is happening inside of me is okay.
I allow it to be here just for now,
Just as it is.
And whatever is happening outside of me,
Just for now,
I allow it to be just as it is.
We can think of this precious time together as a pause,
A reset,
A way to nourish yourself.
So whatever is happening in your life,
You have this inner space of greater calm,
Peace,
Love,
Fullness that you are able to move from.
If you're able to move your body,
I invite you to place one hand on your heart and the other hand on your belly if that's comfortable.
Feel this connection between your hands and your chest,
Your belly.
There seems to be a common thread for many humans of a feeling of unworthiness,
Some deep seed that says,
I'm not enough as I am,
Or simply I am not worthy.
Even if I do my very best or achieve all my goals,
There's still this feeling inside.
And many of us live our lives with this feeling and believing it to be true.
We treat ourselves from this belief of I am unworthy.
We engage in our relationships with this belief underneath many of our thoughts,
Feelings,
And behaviors.
Even the ways that we show up in the world,
This thread seems to follow us.
Today,
Now,
If you wish,
I invite you to consider that this belief of unworthiness,
That there's something wrong with you,
That you are in some way not enough or good enough,
It is not true.
It's not true.
There is nothing wrong with you.
There is nothing wrong with you,
Beloved.
It's like an ancient story that's been on repeat,
But it is not true.
You are a light.
You are a good person,
Even with the mistakes you've made.
If you could see who you truly are under all of the stories and the layers of pain and experience,
If you could see who you truly are,
The beauty of you,
It would take your breath away.
So to welcome thoughts and maybe even ultimately behaviors that take us beyond this old paradigm belief of I am unworthy,
We will repeat affirmations.
Affirmations are a very powerful way to retrain the mind and even rewire the brain.
Sometimes they feel very untrue or we feel a great resistance when we hear them or try to repeat them.
And all of this is OK.
We can practice just being aware of what arises when we repeat the affirmation.
And if you wish,
Even let go of needing to place meaning on how you feel.
Meaning if you don't believe it,
No issue.
Just take a breath.
Sometimes repeating an affirmation is simply a powerful way to introduce a new way of thinking,
Even if it feels foreign at first,
Because naturally anything new will feel foreign.
You're welcome to continue holding your heart and your belly.
Relax the hands down if that's more comfortable.
Feel the crown of the head lifting the spine up toward the sky.
Allow your chest to be more open,
Taking this receptive posture that says,
I am open to something new.
I am open to life.
As you hear each affirmation,
I invite you to repeat it silently in your mind or out loud.
And if you can,
Imagine,
Feel the emotion that is connected to this affirmation.
If the affirmation says,
I am a good person.
Maybe you imagine a sense of peace that comes with that.
When we repeat an affirmation while simultaneously feeling an emotion,
It helps to create a new neural pathway in the brain.
Let us take a slow,
Deep breath in,
Filling the chest,
Expanding the belly.
Exhale completely.
I am grateful for my life.
I am grateful for my life.
I see myself through the loving eyes of others.
I see myself through the loving eyes of others.
I acknowledge myself for doing my best.
I acknowledge myself for doing my best.
I am not what has happened to me.
I am not what has happened to me.
I know mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow.
I know mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow.
I am a good person.
I am a good person.
I am worthy just because I breathe.
I am worthy just because I breathe.
I release all stories of unworthiness.
I release all stories of unworthiness.
There is nothing wrong with me.
There is nothing wrong with me.
I am a spiritual being having a human experience.
I am a spiritual being having a human experience.
I feel unworthy because I have forgotten who I am.
I feel unworthy because I have forgotten who I am.
I am light.
I am love.
I am consciousness.
I am light.
I am love.
I am consciousness.
I have so many gifts to share with the world.
I have so many gifts to share with the world.
I am beautiful inside and out.
I am beautiful inside and out.
I lovingly forgive myself for all mistakes.
And remember,
All humans make mistakes.
I lovingly forgive myself for making mistakes.
And remember,
That all humans make mistakes.
I am worthy of a beautiful love-filled life.
I am worthy of a beautiful love-filled life.
When I remember who I truly am,
I am completely at peace.
When I remember who I truly am,
I am completely at peace.
The beauty of my presence shines through my eyes,
My words,
My thoughts and feelings.
The beauty of my presence shines through my eyes,
My words,
My thoughts and feelings.
I forgive myself,
And I forgive others,
So I may be free.
I forgive myself,
And I forgive others,
So I may be free.
I am worthy beyond measure.
I am worthy beyond measure.
My worth has nothing to do with others.
It is simply who I am.
My worth has nothing to do with others.
It is simply who I am.
It is simply who I am.
Every day,
I think to myself,
I am worthy.
Every day,
I say to myself,
I am worthy.
Every day,
I am so grateful to myself.
I am so grateful to myself.
There is nothing I could ever say,
Do,
Think or feel.
That would take away my worthiness.
There is nothing I could ever say,
Do,
Think or feel.
That could take away my worthiness.
I deeply love and accept all parts of myself.
I deeply love and accept all parts of myself.
I am light.
I am light.
I am light.
If you wish,
I invite you to massage slow,
Gentle circles on your heart center,
Feeling more connected to yourself,
Welcoming these thoughts and feelings of knowing that your worthiness is not dependent on anything outside of you or anyone.
It is your birthright.
It is who you are.
And it is not something up for debate or that could ever change.
You are worthy.
You are lovable.
You are loved.
Take a few slow,
Deep breaths.
Maybe sigh on the exhalations.
Move the body in slow,
Gentle ways as you become aware of the space around you and your physical experience again.
Take as much time as you need.
And when you're ready,
Slowly open the eyes,
Staying aware of and connected to any sense of opening,
Expansion,
Tenderness,
Or whatever might be arising in your experience.
In your experience,
May you carry yourself with kindness,
Tenderness,
And love as you move to the rest of your day or night.
I love you so.

I started my day in tears and wrote about my feeling in my journal, being revisited by the unmet needs of my inner child. Then I closed my book, choosing to leave my tear there, to heal. This evening I find this meditation sitting on the menu of offerings... and I have made the right choice: I forgive myself and I forgive others so that I may be free. What a blessing! Thank You.
