Sean Fargo leads a guided mindfulness meditation inviting us to sense into sensations above the shoulders. What can you notice, for instance, in and around your skull, your forehead, your cheeks, and your throat? The intention is to simply bring caring curiosity to these parts of the body.

So finding a posture that feels balanced,

Maybe moving in your body a little bit to invite a sense of fluidity,

Wakefulness,

Maybe taking a deep breath or two,

And close the eyes gently or look downward to limit visual distractions if you wish.

Softening the muscles of the face,

Sensing into the head,

This energy of awareness around the head,

Allowing sensations to be here,

Allowing space for these sensations to be.

Softening awareness around the head,

Sensing into the throat and the neck,

Sensing into what's here.

Any heaviness or lightness?

Warmth or coolness?

Allowing sensations around the throat to be.

Allowing space.

Just noticing how it feels.

Allowing this caring curiosity or other throat,

Neck,

And the head feel in this moment.

Everything above the shoulders in the foreground of our awareness.

All these sensations in the head and neck together.

This energy being aware of all the different sensations around the brain,

The skull,

The forehead,

The eyes,

Cheeks,

The tongue,

The throat,

The top of the spine,

Continually sensing into this area,

Opening these sensations,

Allowing them to be felt.

Softening any tension.

Allowing always to see lioness and Allowing space for it all to be.

Allowing space for it all to be.

May we continue to check in with the body above the shoulders more and more for the rest of the day.

Maybe taking a deep breath or two.

Softening the belly.

Wiggling the cheeks and the ear.

The earrings.

The hands whenever you're ready.
