Remembering your motivation.
Let's begin by taking a moment to settle your body in a comfortable position.
You can close your eyes gently or look downward just to limit visual distractions.
Allow your spine to lift,
And allow your shoulders and your belly to soften.
Just inviting a sense of ease into the body and the mind.
Today we will practice remembering motivation,
And let's begin by taking a moment to relax.
Taking a full breath in through the nose,
And a long,
Slow breath out through the mouth.
Allow the mind to rest on your breathing.
Noticing your inhale and your exhale,
As you relax your body.
Now call to mind an area of your life where you may be feeling a lack of motivation.
Perhaps it's with a task at work,
Project you've been putting off at home.
Maybe it's repairing a relationship issue with a friend or a family member.
And as you envision this issue,
This lack of motivation,
Listen to these questions lightly,
And just see what comes up.
There's no need to figure anything out,
And if nothing comes to mind,
Just continue to focus on the breath,
And notice what thoughts arise.
Letting them pass through your mind as if carried by a gentle breeze.
And ask yourself,
When it comes to this issue,
What is my greatest aspiration?
I'm not sure if you're aware of this,
But I'm sure you're aware of the fact that you're breathing.
What about this issue is most important to me?
What might be getting in the way of me addressing this issue?
How do I wanna show up in relationship to this issue?
Notice how you feel when you consider these questions and the specific sensations in your body.
And again,
There's nothing to figure out here.
Just notice what comes up for you as you ask these questions.
If this issue was in progress or completed,
What would that mean to me?
If this issue was in progress or completed,
What would that feel like?
And see if you can really feel that feeling,
Allowing yourself to fully absorb it.
And notice how you're feeling as you experience these feelings of accomplishment.
Consider how you can access this place again the next time you face this issue.
How can you use these feelings as a source of focus?
Can these feelings serve as a motivation for you to engage?
And finally,
Ask yourself,
What is my intention going forward?
And let's finish with a deep full breath in through the nose and a long slow breath out through the mouth.
