Sound Bath Sessions 210: Joanna Cher

Joanna gave birth just over one month before our recording, so my visit to Singapore just happened to be right after her moon period. We recorded in her apartment complex near Punggol Point station. Her complex had a great flavor of early morning Singapore, moving traffic, and the echoes of kids playing in the courtyard below. Passing neighbors walked by her apartment in the open-air corridors, and nature could be heard all around.

Joanna is friends with Dawn and wanted to record with me the next time I came to Singapore. She graciously made me a cacao drink before the recording.

Joanna had a set of metal and crystal bowls that she played for the sessions.

For this track, we went to the boat dock nearby and played outside. He brought along some crystal bowls, and we found a spot that would be quiet for a little while before lunch. Distant traffic can be heard and the occasional would-be. A restaurant was starting to open as we finished the session.
