Sound Bath Sessions 103: Adelynn Lee
I went to Johor Bahru (JB) in Malaysia to record Adelynn. Just across the Strait of Johor along the north coast of Singapore I realized that Singapore was much larger than I had thought. Luckily, she lived close to the immigration building across the bridge. Adelynn has been playing native american-style flutes since 2021 and has a large collection of hand and machine-made flutes. She played some of her favorites in the recordings. I had not yet recorded a flute sound bath for the project, so I was determined to document her no matter what. In each recording she selects and plays 3-4 flutes each one with their own base note and character. Her styles also change when playing different flutes as if she begins a new chapter of a story. She played in native spiritual styles and even slow lazy jazzy riffs were hinted at. It was a great recording and wonderful finale to my last full day in Singapore. This is the second session we recorded.
