Sound Bath Sessions 104: Brian Ang
I recorded Brian during my visit to Singapore in May 2024. Brian originally used a crystal bowl as a way to clean his crystals, not for giving sound baths. He eventually became more interested in it and started to build his set. I feel his style is creative and not apparently based on any specific patterns or beliefs. Brian was just finishing a sound bath session when I arrived at the dance studio in the Midland House building. Brian is a tap dancer and this was the studio where he teaches. The studio was a quiet, squarish space with mirrors, curtains, and a strip of windows along one side. We sat parallel with the windows so you can hear late night Singapore traffic in your left ear with empty space on your right. Brian played nice broken-chord melodies during the session. He slowed the tempo down which calmed my breathing and let me dream. Towards the end, he sped up the tempo and played louder to bring me back. It was a pleasant late night vibe and a great way to end the day.
