For when the mind feels like it has a dozen tabs open at once, this meditation does not aim for a blank or silent mind, only a slightly slower one. Using sensory grounding through sound, touch, and smell, followed by rhythmic breath, this practice offers a simple way to note passing thoughts, quietly, without chasing them down or getting frustrated when they keep arriving. Even a mind that slows by a small amount still counts as real progress. This is not about achieving stillness, it is about finding a touch more space between one racing thought and the next. A grounding meditation for a busy or scattered mind, mental noise, and the specific restlessness that comes with a brain that will not quite slow down. This works well before a task that requires focus, or simply whenever the internal noise has been building for a while.
