Today we're talking about a bitter taste.

When things don't work,

It's easy to become angry or depressed.

However,

Situations that didn't turn out like you hoped are in your life for a reason.

In failing,

You are asked to seek the root.

How did this situation manifest?

Go back and look with detachment from drama and emotion and let yourself see the soul lesson,

The universe.

Well,

That's a particularly strict teaching.

And I guess,

You know,

We really,

We really,

We really are here to take responsibility for our decisions.

That's what,

You know,

Is part of our karmic path is to learn as we go.

And so it's okay to fail.

It's okay to have things not turn out.

It's,

It's okay for things to not work out.

And we don't have to take a failure as complete failure or one thing going wrong as a whole lifetime going wrong.

Our lives are made up of our awareness of experiences.

So we have all these experiences from birth until death.

And of course,

In lifetimes before and in lifetimes after.

And really,

If you look at an experience as something as little as,

You know,

A five second or a one second noticing or awareness,

That's an experience.

And then you might have another experience of maybe you're talking to someone on the phone for 10 minutes,

That's an experience.

And then you're shopping for food,

And that's an experience.

And you know,

These are the kind of the regular experiences.

And then there's the bigger experiences of,

You know,

Maybe you have a baby or you move to another place,

Or you meet someone amazing.

And so all of these experiences sort of start to build and I sometimes call it like it's this strand of pearls with each pearl and experience in your life.

And of course,

The experiences can be very tiny,

They can be as little as a few seconds.

So when you're seeking,

You know,

When you're fixated or focused on an experience that didn't work out like you wanted,

It's really good to put that in perspective with this idea of how many millions of experiences you're going to have maybe even billions in a lifetime.

And to sort of look at this one experience that's kind of,

I use that term sticky,

Or it's kind of bugging you,

It's kind of like the pestering thought or the looping thought of the thing you can't get over.

And just look,

Look to in failing you are asked to seek the root.

Okay,

What is the root?

Where did this come into being?

What choices were made from what beliefs that brought about this particular situation?

Let's see,

For example,

Say you took a job that you really wanted.

And really,

It,

It was a job that was not playing to your best strengths.

And you knew it,

But you just thought,

I'm going to do it anyway.

So then maybe you,

You quit that job,

Or you got fired from that job,

Or it didn't work out.

And you feel really bitter,

You have this bitter taste about this job,

Like,

I wanted to do that,

And it failed,

And I failed.

And,

And looking back to the root,

What you might recognize is that,

You know,

That job,

You really didn't have the right skills,

Or that job,

You didn't have the right personality,

Or,

My goodness,

That's not your Dharma at all,

That has nothing to do with your particular soul destiny,

You're not even supposed to be working in that field.

It was because,

You know,

Your parent,

Or your belief system,

Or someone else,

For whatever reason,

You felt pressured to do that.

And when you look at it,

When you seek the root,

You find that that's a situation you weren't meant to be in,

At all,

From the beginning,

You somehow got led astray.

And so the,

The failure is a gift,

It frees you to find the true path,

To find your true calling.

And you'll know you are on your calling,

Because it's,

It's easy,

It's not that you don't fail,

But it's just the,

The way of,

Of moving on the journey is simple.

There isn't a lot of struggle when you are on your calling.

It's just clear,

This is what I'm supposed to do.

And then you go do that.

So when things don't work,

Instead of getting angry or depressed,

Or maybe do that for a while,

But then after a while,

Come back to a neutral place and see if you can figure out what the soul lesson is there for you.

Now,

This is a much less enjoyable way of working than to go around being angry and depressed,

You know,

Of course,

It's much more fun to have the drama of the emotions.

But if you can seek the root,

And again,

You would go in,

Ask your guides to help you gain clarity,

Meditate,

Pray,

All these things.

And then just see what you notice about what guidance you're getting.

Why didn't it work?

Backtrack,

Review,

And let this bitter taste go.

The universe is always working to our highest possibility.

All we have to do is ask for guidance and we will begin to move more freely and more often in flow state.
