Enjoy this meditation on meeting your future self - I created this meditation because I am a cancer survivor. I caught myself thinking the future would be bleak, so I changed how I thought about it - I started visualising myself in the way I have done so in the meditation. I wanted to create this recording to listen to regularly but also share with others who also may need a reminder that life is amazing, that it's going to be a long, happy life, and to remember what we are here for!

Hello,

Welcome!

Welcome to this future self meditation.

Today,

We're gonna go really,

Really far into the future.

If you don't have a mind's eye,

That's okay,

Just follow my instructions.

But I'm sure you've imagined this many times before.

What will it be like when I'm really old and I've lived my life?

What will I have achieved?

What would I have done?

I'm really excited to take you on this journey today.

Before we begin,

I want you to get comfortable.

So grab a chair,

Come join me by the fire,

And let's look at the stars.

And imagine something bigger than ourselves,

Something further than the reality that we're in right now.

Somewhere far,

Far away in the future.

Sometimes,

The future can be scary.

And when we think about the future too much,

It causes anxiety.

But today,

What we're gonna do instead is we're going to manifest your future old self.

So now,

In your seated position,

Make sure that your back is straight and that you're comfortable.

The best way to make sure that your spine is straight is to lift your shoulders up,

Back,

And down.

And imagine a string attached to your head and someone is standing over you and gently tugging on that string to pull you up.

Your spine is now straight.

You're sitting comfortably.

And you're receptive to the universe right now that's most important.

Now before we imagine our future self,

I'm gonna explain how the universe likes to listen.

Have you ever thought of someone and then they just popped up or thought of something and then saw it or it happened?

Have you ever thought,

I don't want it to rain today and then it rains?

The universe speaks in symbols.

That's how manifestation works.

That's how the law of attraction works.

And I created this meditation to remind myself,

Mostly,

But everyone else,

That you can create your future too.

And that no matter how hard things may be,

No matter how windy the road gets,

No matter how many times you think that there may not be a future for you,

There's always hope.

There's always a light.

You need to move so you can see a new perception,

A new reflection,

A new message.

This meditation today is gonna allow you to safely move from where you are right now into a better place.

Whether this vision becomes true or not,

The purpose of this exercise is to bring you into your life right now.

Right now.

Because that's where life really is.

It's happening right here,

Right now.

That's the last we'll hear of right now as we gently float up,

Up,

Up,

Up into the cosmos.

Imagine yourself leaving your body behind,

Floating higher,

Drifting longer strides like you're floating,

Like you're flying,

Like you're swimming between the stars.

Take yourself on a journey into the universe.

Float.

Sit in the wonder of its beauty.

Because in that beauty is the spontaneous miracle that was your creation.

How you came to be because you come from there,

From those stars,

From that energy.

As you float along,

I want you to notice in between the stars somewhere,

There's a little pale blue dot.

It's very,

Very small,

Very,

Very far away.

But you're drifting closer,

Slowly.

And as you drift closer,

Slowly,

Some echoes,

Some reverberations of something that once was start to come to you.

Maybe a sound,

Maybe a picture,

Maybe a feeling.

But it's there as you float closer to this dot,

Which is getting slightly bigger as you get closer.

You're meditating with this pale blue dot.

You're so focused on it that you forget where you are.

So you came to be here and suddenly you slip into a sleep.

And in this sleep,

You dream that you're floating in an ocean.

The ocean feels calm and serene and warm.

The water is clear.

You can see the bottom.

It's safe.

The sun is shining down upon you.

Suddenly,

You see your own hand.

It's old.

It's wrinkly.

Like something that has lived for a very long time.

Something that sat in the bath water for too long.

But it's playful exercise as you twirl yourself around in the water and realize that you still have all the energy that you once had when you were a child.

So you swim deep under the water and you see beautiful,

Colorful corals.

And as you swim towards the light,

You have every flash of memory come rushing in.

And you remember.

You finally remember the life you lived.

The years,

The decades of joyful life that you have lived.

All of the beautiful things that have come to be in decades of time that have passed.

All you can feel is extreme,

Intense joy.

And you don't know where it comes from.

You can just feel it deep inside.

Your heart is full.

And though you've already achieved everything and you couldn't ask for anything more.

When you come to the surface of the water,

You feel the sun touch your skin.

You swim to the shore slowly.

You float on your back.

You smell the breeze,

The fresh air,

The nature around you.

This is so joyful that you don't even want to get out of the water.

But you notice that your feet touch the sand.

And you walk out of the water.

And ahead of you,

You notice there's a chair.

An old wooden chair.

And as you walk up to it,

There's a book.

An old photo album.

And it says your name on it.

You know this is your life story.

You know that you've put this book together yourself.

But you don't open it yet.

You pick up the book.

You touch its skin.

You touch the pages in between the covers.

You smell every part of it.

The leather that binds it.

Whatever your book looks like is perfect.

You look up at the sun once more and decide that this chair was left here for you.

To sit in the sun,

Smell the ocean breeze,

And remember everything that your life brought joy to you.

You open the book.

And you see a photo of yourself as you were born.

A miracle that is.

The first breath of life.

So inherently good.

So full of joy and hope.

A clean,

Perfect slate to build upon over time.

And yes,

Along the way there were some hard times that brought you here.

But you only look through those hard times with immense acceptance.

What was once grief or burden or sadness is now acceptance.

Because everything that you have experienced is a part of life.

You accept that that was all a part of your journey.

A part of your story.

As you reflect upon those moments that brought you to where you are.

You look at the book and you realize you only filled the book with moments of joy.

As you sift through the pages,

You look at photos of yourself joyful as a child.

Full of true innate wisdom.

That is happiness and laughter and an imagination and creativity.

And then a teenager learning life,

Trying to figure out who you really are.

Going out into the world for the first time.

All of your firsts are in there.

Every first that you can imagine.

And they weren't the first time if it was not very pleasant,

It was the first time you experienced joy in that thing.

The thing that reminds you of why you're alive.

When you move forward in time and notice that no one really had it together in their twenties.

But they gave it a go anyway.

And that was what made you who you were in your thirties.

And the wisdom that came later on.

All that you achieved.

And all that you chose for yourself.

Because you got to choose your own life and your own existence.

Who is around you?

Who was around you?

Who do you want around you?

How did you change things for the better?

How did you improve yourself?

What are you grateful for?

What have you achieved in this lifetime that you're proud of?

What did you get to do that no one else got to?

Whether good or bad.

And why was it important that you had to do that to get to where you are now?

What have you created in this lifetime?

What have you created?

Things?

Or people?

Or ideas?

Or friendships?

Or love?

Or connection?

How have you made the world a better place just by being here?

What is the biggest lesson that you learned?

Would you change anything?

Would you choose another path if you had the choice again?

Or have you found a way to understand why this was yours from the beginning?

What are you excited for?

How have your priorities changed?

How do you live your life now?

Is it with joy?

Is it on your own terms?

How is your health?

Because that's most important,

Right?

That's how we get to the old age.

What did you do to turn your health around so you could live a long happy life?

What mindsets did you have to take on?

What beliefs did you change?

What values did you place the priority upon?

If you could look back now,

Would you change anything?

Would you choose a different way?

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Life is intense.

Life is amazing.

Life is a miracle.

And we don't know what happens next.

So if you only had these last moments to think about what you wanted,

What would you create?

What would you tell people?

How would you go about your life now?

How would you feel when it came to facing death?

Because our timeline will end.

Eventually,

Everyone's does.

By looking out into the future,

At our future self,

We can reflect upon what we want to do right now so that when it comes to facing death,

We face it boldly,

Fearlessly,

With joy for the life that we lived without regret,

And never having missed any opportunities as they came by,

Opportunities for growth,

For success,

For wealth,

Connection,

For love,

Because that's why we're all here,

Right?

To spread a little bit more love in this world that is very hard to live in sometimes.

So by facing death,

We in turn appreciate life.

We say thank you.

And we say,

I want this,

I want life.

I want everything that brings me joy.

I want the breath of fresh air.

I want the breeze on my skin.

I want the sun on my face.

I want to feel the water on my feet,

The sand beneath my toes.

Sometimes we can take life for granted.

Sometimes life can get really,

Really hard.

So remember,

One day,

When it comes to looking back at your whole life,

And you look through the photo books,

And you look back on your story,

Remember,

Remember this place.

Remember the chair you're sitting on.

Remember looking at your old wrinkly hand,

Turning the pages of the book of life.

Remember all that you want to create,

All that you want to be,

Because although life passes you by very fast,

The ever present moment lasts eternity.

The more present you become,

The more connected with your true self you will be.

The more you appreciate right now,

When you get to your old self,

When you get to your death bed,

You'll say,

I loved my life,

And I wouldn't change a thing.

So thank you.

Thank you universe.

Thank you God.

Thank you whatever created what this is,

Because it's a miracle.

From birth,

From first to last breath,

We live a journey in our mind.

So be kind to yourself.

Be kind to others.

Find purpose in your life,

And spread love,

Because that's why you're here.

And one day,

You will ask yourself to measure your life based on how much you really experienced happiness and love and joy.

Start now,

And don't regret a moment.

Life is beautiful.

Only come back.

I want you to start coming back by waking up from the dream.

Remember where you were before?

You were floating in the universe,

And you saw a pale blue dot.

That dot is home.

Start floating towards it.

The closer you get to home,

You notice you just naturally try to gravitate back to the fire,

Where you joined me at the beginning,

Back to where we were having a conversation.

Love yourself,

Whole and true.

Come back to the fire with all of your learnings,

And let them go.

Thank you for being here.

I love you unconditionally.

Your life is beautiful.

So let's go live it.

Namaste.

Namaste.

That was is so powerful . I listened to it last night before I went to bed and again this morning when I first woke up. I have just retired and right before I retired, I found out that I am in the early stages of cancer and thus hopefully beatable. It has icompletely changed my outlook on life in wonderful beautiful ways, and this beautiful experience you provided as part of my journey. Thank you.

Wow, one of the best meditation experiences I have ever had. I got emotional, which I have never done so before during a meditation. I will have my wife listen and I’m adding to my favorites. Thank you 🙏🏻
