Voice plays an important role when it comes to preparing for sleep. This is why lullabies are so effective in making children fall asleep. In this practice, Saqib will be using his voice to induce sleep through a number of gentle practices including body scan, breathing, and thought awareness. These practices will calm your mind, relax your body, and take you to the deep levels of the world of sleep.

Let's begin our journey.

I am assuming that you must be lying in your bed.

However,

Even if you are somewhere else,

Just see if you can get into a more comfortable position.

I am assuming that you must be lying in your bed.

Notice if there is any sort of uneasiness or tension in your body.

Just relax that part of the body.

Surrender yourself to the force that you believe in.

It might be God,

Universal consciousness,

Higher spirit,

The universe or even yourself.

Just know that this force is protecting you.

Surrender your body and all your thoughts,

Everything to this force.

It will take care of everything.

Focus your gaze at one point in your room.

It will be better if that one point is directly in the line of your vision.

If you are lying on your back,

It's best to focus at a point on the ceiling on your roof.

Simply focus on that one point for some time.

Now gradually close your eyes.

Imagine a ring of white light.

This is a relaxation ring.

It relaxes,

Soothes and calms the part of our body through which this ring passes.

We'll imagine scanning this ring through our entire body.

Let's start with the head.

Imagine that the relaxation ring is encircling your head and gradually move it downwards towards your stomach.

Feel each part of the body relaxing as the ring passes through it.

Feel each part of the body relaxing as the ring passes through it.

Now move the relaxation ring from your stomach downwards towards your feet.

Feel each part of the body relaxing as the ring passes through it.

Now move it back from your feet towards your head.

Feel each part of the body relaxing as the ring passes through it.

Feel each part of the body relaxing as the ring passes through it.

Keep this ring placed on your head for a while and let it relax and calm your mind deeply.

See that if there are any thoughts in your mind right now.

You will be able to control these thoughts if you see them as something external to your awareness.

Visualize these thoughts as bubbles arising in front of you.

Imagine that you are gradually and one by one bursting these bubbles of thought with a slight touch of your finger,

Removing one thought at a time.

Now that you have removed the thoughts from your mind,

Bring your attention to your breathing.

Feel your breath going in as you inhale and going out as you exhale.

Feel your breath going in as you exhale.

Now I will be counting backwards from 10 to 1 and with each count you will be going deeper into the world of sleep.

Here we go.

Thank you.
