Welcome to this Inner Child Meditation.
You can use this meditation as often as you need to in order to connect with your inner child and work through any inner child issues that may be coming up for you.
As we begin,
I invite you to sit comfortably in your space.
Feel your shoulders relax and take a deep breath in through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.
And again in through the nose and out through the mouth.
Breathe in and as you exhale,
Feel yourself drop into the support of your seat.
Release all expectations at this time and call forth your inner child.
Notice her now.
How old is she?
What is she like?
And what is she doing?
Allow the memory to come up now and accept it for what it is.
Observe your inner child in this memory.
What is she feeling?
Allow any and all emotions that come up for you to be felt without judgment.
What can you learn from this memory with your current perspective?
What has changed for you since that time?
What did your inner child need at that time that you can provide now?
Take a moment to listen and ask her what she needs.
Now forgive her for all the ways she might have tried to get your attention in the past.
Perhaps she reacted angrily to similar situations or maybe she felt sad every time a similar situation played out for you.
Whatever it is,
Forgive her now.
Repeat after me.
I hear you,
I forgive you and I love you.
I hear you,
I forgive you and I love you.
I hear you,
I forgive you and I love you.
Let her know that I am here now.
See that inner child now with the love and support that you have provided for her.
And taking a deep breath in,
Pull her into you.
And when you are ready,
Bring yourself to the present moment.
