This technique creates a soothing rhythm with your fingers, allowing you to anchor in the present moment. It's beneficial to use finger taps when you are feeling stressed and reactive (sympathetic state) such as difficult meetings in order to help calm yourself and feel more in control. Welcome,

Welcome,

Welcome to another simple practice.

I'm so glad to have you here.

We're going to do finger taps today.

So bring your thumb and your little finger together.

You can do this with one hand or two hand,

The choice is completely yours.

And I want you just to tap.

You may want to do it once or twice,

But tap your thumb to your little finger.

Find a pace that works for you.

Some days that'll be fast,

Some days that'll be slow.

And then move to your ring finger.

Again,

Tap a few times and move to your middle finger.

And again,

Move up to your index finger and then work your way back down your hand,

Back to your little finger.

Just keep moving at whatever pace with as many taps or as few taps as feel good for your body in this moment.

Play around,

As I say,

With one or both hands.

And the rhythm and the speed.

Remembering that as your brain gets distracted,

That's normal.

You just bring it back to the feeling of that tap,

Your thumb tapping your fingers.

Keep going.

You will lose your place,

That's normal.

Just bring it back,

Starting at the little finger if you need to.

Now gently just slow down that pace.

Just slow it down a little bit.

Drop to single taps on your fingers,

Slowing down the pace.

Taking some deep breaths if you feel you need to as you do this.

Allowing yourself just to come to a stop.

And then stretch your body in whatever way it feels it's needed to.

And have a beautiful day.

I hope to see you back here again soon.

Take care.

Crazy! I starting doing this a week ago and then found this - love how you slow it down at the end. Thank you! 🙏🏼
