Poetry - We Are Worthy

Hello beautiful souls.

Welcome to my heart. This is my reading of my poem, We Are Worthy.

I write poetry to make sense of, express, and capture how I feel, in any given experience, as I make my way through this life.

Some of the things I experience in life can be very hard to logically explain, but poetry doesn't need, and has never needed, to be logical.

What my poetry means to me may be very different to what it means to you. Such is the beauty of art.

I hope it touches you, in the way you need to be touched, in this very moment.

One day,

We wake up to all the lies we've been sold,

The stories we've been told.

You are unworthy.

You'll never be good enough.

Don't behave like that.

Behave like this.

Fit in.

Prove yourself.

Earn my love.

And then,

Like lightning,

The truth penetrates our being.

We are worthy.

We've always been worthy.

Just as we are.
