Good day to you beautiful souls and welcome to this meditation on Inner Child.
Find yourself in a comfortable position,
Whether that be seated or laid down.
Whatever works for you in this moment.
Take a few long deep breaths.
Releasing any tension that's accumulated during the day.
If you're seated,
Feeling your sit bones and your legs grounded into the earth.
And if you're laid down,
Feeling all the parts of your body that are in contact with the ground or the bed.
And just arrive fully in this moment.
Offering gratitude to yourself for taking time today to be with yourself.
To give yourself some time and some space away from the to-do list.
Away from the normal activities that shape your day.
Your eyes can be closed or softly open.
Whatever serves you best.
And just breathe.
I'd like you to imagine that you are walking through the woods.
You can hear the birds singing.
There's a gentle breeze blowing on your face,
Your hair,
Your arms,
Any of your body that is exposed.
And the sun is shining through the trees.
Coming through in little pockets.
Illuminating the ground.
Sometimes you can feel the warm sun on your face.
Before you step back into the shadows again.
You are not trying to get anywhere.
You are just walking leisurely through the woods.
Your body is relaxed.
You can smell the dirt,
The soil.
You can hear the creaking of the trees and the leaves blowing gently in the wind.
It's a perfect spring day.
Not too hot and not too cold.
There's no one else around.
Just the birds singing.
You come to the edge of the woods and you step out into a beautiful meadow.
And there are many,
Many beautiful flowers.
And you can smell them.
They smell like sweet perfume.
And the colours are vibrant.
Yellows,
Pinks,
Oranges,
Purples.
All illuminated by the sun.
And you see little honeybees flying from flower to flower.
Then you walk through the meadow.
The sun gently warming your face.
And the flowers gently sway in the wind.
Giving off a delightful scent.
You reach down and remove your shoes.
And as you walk,
You feel the soft grass beneath your feet.
You feel at one with nature.
Your mind is clear.
And you are at peace.
As you continue walking,
You notice someone coming towards you.
They are small.
A child.
As they get closer,
You notice that the child is you.
You smile at the younger version of yourself.
And they smile back.
You reach out to hand.
And you stroke their face.
And you tell them that you've been waiting for them.
You both sit down in the grass.
And you ask the younger version of you if there is anything that they would like to tell you.
And you listen as they speak.
And you thank your younger self for opening up to you.
And you ask them if there's anything else they'd like to tell you.
And you listen.
Anything else?
You reach out.
You reach out and tenderly stroke the face of your younger self.
And you tell them how precious they are and how much you love them.
And you ask if there's anything else that they'd like to talk to you about today.
Anything else you need to know.
You hear someone approaching.
And you look up.
And there's an elderly woman walking towards you and the younger version of you.
And as she gets closer,
You notice that they have the same eyes as you and the same smile.
And you realise it is you.
The older,
Wiser version of you.
Who you will become.
You stand up as she approaches.
And she embraces you in her arms and strokes your face.
They tell you that everything is going to be alright.
That you are exactly where you are meant to be.
And that everything is okay.
And that your life is going to be beautiful.
And that you have nothing to fear.
They tell you that you are brave and strong.
And that you can handle anything that life presents you with.
And that she is happy and blissful and peaceful.
And that you don't need to worry.
The three of you lay down in the grass together,
Looking up at the sky.
The fluffy white clouds as they gently float on by.
You are in the middle,
With the younger version of you to one side and the older version of you to the other.
And you're holding hands.
And there is a sense of peace,
Of belonging,
Of coming home.
After a short while,
The older version of you sits up,
Turns to you and smiles.
And says it's time for them to leave now.
You and the younger version of you sit up and embrace.
And all three of you stand up.
The older version of you tells you that she will look after the younger version.
And to go and live your life.
To go and enjoy every day.
To know that you are guided and protected at all times.
And that your life is going to be beautiful.
You embrace the older and younger version of you.
And they hold hands and turn to leave.
And as they are nearly out of sight,
They turn around,
Smile and wave goodbye.
You head back into the woods.
Feeling safe and at ease.
Knowing that everything is okay.
And when you are ready,
You can bring your awareness back into the room.
Back into your body.
Take some long,
Deep breaths.
And if you want to stretch out your body,
Stretch out your body.
