Hello,
Dear ones.
And welcome to today's meditation.
A meditation.
Designed specifically for complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
Coming home to yourself.
A grounding meditation.
Or self-compassion.
And the inner child.
So come into a comfortable position.
Sitting or lying down.
You are at full choice.
If it feels safe for you,
You can gently close down the eyes.
Or soften your gaze toward the floor.
Now taking a deep breath in.
And letting it go.
And again.
Ewww.
And out.
And continue now,
Breathing in and out.
Let each exhale be a small release.
You don't have to carry everything right now.
You can set some of it down.
Being here is an act of kindness toward yourself.
Begin to notice the weight of your body.
Let yourself feel heavy.
Feel where your body meets the surface beneath you.
The solidity of it.
It is not going anywhere and it will hold you.
You are in a body.
A body that has carried you through so much.
It has worked hard.
It has held things that were difficult to hold.
I am going to read some affirmations now.
And you can repeat them to yourself.
Silently or out loud.
Or simply just listen.
You are at choice.
I am deserving of kindness.
Especially from myself.
I am deserving of kindness.
Especially from myself.
My feelings matter.
My feelings matter.
I do not have to be perfect to deserve care.
I do not have to be perfect to deserve care.
I release the belief that I am too much.
I release a belief that I am not enough.
I release the belief that i am too much I release the belief that I am not enough.
I am learning to be on my own side.
I am learning to be on my own side.
I am enough.
I am enough.
Now,
I would like you to imagine yourself as a child.
Whatever age comes to mind.
Picture that younger version of you.
Notice what they look like.
What they are wearing.
Where they are.
This child did not fully understand what was happening around them.
They were doing the very best they could with what they had.
They were trying to survive.
And they did.
They survived.
They found a way through.
Imagine now sitting beside that child.
And telling them.
I see you.
I'm sorry,
It was so hard.
You didn't deserve what happened to you.
You were so brave.
You did so well.
I am here now.
I'm not going anywhere.
Notice how.
That child responds to your words.
There is no right or wrong response.
Just be with them.
Let them know that you will keep coming back.
That you are learning to take care of them.
You are loved.
You are safe now.
You are not alone.
Letting the image soften.
And fade away now.
Beginning to bring awareness back into your body.
Back to your breath.
Back to the ground beneath you.
Today you chose yourself.
That is an act of love.
When you are ready.
Begin to bring some gentle movement back to your body.
Wiggling your fingers and your toes.
You deserve kindness.
You deserve gentleness.
If your eyes were closed you can.
.
.
Slowly open them now.
And taking some time to slowly come out of this meditative state.
Before you continue on with your day.
Thank you.
For meditating with me today.
For trusting me too.
Hold this space for you.
I hope that you have a wonderful day.
Take care,
Dear ones.
