Hello and welcome to this guided meditation inspired by the work of Bert Hellinger.
Find a comfortable seated position and relax.
Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
With each exhalation,
Allow yourself to sink deeper into the body.
Relax your face,
Your eyebrows and your forehead and let your shoulders drop.
Take another deep breath in and as you exhale through your mouth,
Release any remaining tension.
Now,
Invite your mother to stand behind you on your left side.
Allow your father to take his place behind you on your right side.
This is where they belong,
Behind you.
Notice how you feel in your body with your parents standing behind you.
Is there any difference between the right and left sides?
Perhaps you need to adjust the distance between you and them.
Maybe today you want your mother closer while your father is a little further away.
Or it could be the opposite.
Find a distance that feels supportive and comfortable for you.
Next,
Invite all the women in your family to stand behind your mother,
Your grandmothers,
Great-grandmothers,
Aunts and so on.
Welcome them all to stand behind your mother.
Do the same for your father.
Invite all the men in your family,
Your grandfathers,
Great-grandfathers,
Uncles,
To stand behind him.
Now,
Observe how you feel on the left side of your body with all the women behind your mother.
Then,
Notice how you feel on the right side of your body with all the men behind your father.
At this moment,
All the women and men in your family are looking at each other with respect and acceptance,
Feeling compassion for one another.
Your mother will now say to your father,
I see you.
I hear you.
I recognize you.
And then bow in front of him with acknowledgement.
Your father will say to your mother,
I see you.
I hear you.
I recognize you.
And then bow in front of her.
No matter the story between them,
Your parents are now reunited as a man and a woman,
As a wife and a husband,
Or as two former partners.
They are also connected as mother and father.
You do not need to choose between them.
You have both of them.
Your grandparents will now do the same towards each other.
And all the men and women in your family will acknowledge each other,
All the men and women in your family will acknowledge each other with the same recognition.
I see you.
I hear you.
I recognize you.
We need our men and we need our women.
Together,
We create a family that honors both energies equally.
All are seen,
Respected,
And accepted,
Bowing to each other with acknowledgement.
This mutual respect gives you permission to receive from both your mother and your father from the masculine and feminine energies.
You have the right to receive from both.
Notice how you feel with your family standing behind you,
Each showing respect to one another.
Now,
Both of your parents say to you,
Within you,
We are always together.
Feel the presence of your father on the right side of the body and your mother on your left side of the body.
Allow their energies to merge and become one.
There is a sense of belonging.
You are a part of this family,
Just as everyone else belongs.
Take a few more deep breaths,
Breathing out through your mouth.
Here is an affirmation to practice in the coming days.
Today,
And for all the days to come,
I celebrate and reunite the men and women in my family.
We all belong together.
