Transcript

Welcome to this guided visualization to help you reconnect with your father.

Begin by finding a quiet space where you can sit comfortably without interruptions.

You can support your back with a pillow or lean against the wall,

Letting your spine remain straight while allowing your body to relax.

Rest your hands on your lap,

Palms facing upward.

And when you're ready,

Gently close your eyes.

Let your face soften.

And allow your shoulders to release any tension,

Dropping them down.

Now,

Turn your awareness inward.

Feel the sensations within your body.

Any tightness,

Warmth,

Or stillness.

Simply observe without judgment.

Just be present with what is.

Take a slow,

Deep breath in.

Expand your belly and chest.

And exhale fully through your mouth,

Releasing any tension.

In your body and mind.

Notice if you feel a bit lighter.

Take another deep breath in through your nose.

And as you exhale through your mouth,

Let go even further.

Relaxing into this moment.

And allow your breath to settle into its natural rhythm.

Now,

I invite you to journey back in time to when you were about four or five years old.

Imagine you are standing in an open field.

Soft grass beneath your feet.

And you are holding your mother's left hand.

In the distance,

You see a path,

A luminous path,

Leading to a large tree with strong roots,

Ancient and wise.

There is a figure near the tree.

But it's still distant,

Not yet fully visible.

Your mother gently guides you along the path toward the figure.

As you move closer,

You begin to recognize that the figure ahead is your father.

Notice how you feel seeing him there in the distance.

Take a deep breath in.

And as you exhale,

Become aware of how your body feels as your mother continues to lead you forward.

Or perhaps notice if there is hesitation,

Either from her or from within you.

Maybe she stops,

Unsure.

Maybe you have a deep desire to move toward your father.

But your mother's grip is too strong to let you go.

How do you perceive your father in this moment?

This is how you perceive and experience life.

Do you feel pulled forward or held back?

Are you frozen,

Blocked,

Or hesitant?

Perhaps there is a sense of heaviness,

Fear,

Or even absence of joy.

Perhaps the world feels like a stranger because your father is a stranger to you.

Take a deep breath in.

And exhale,

Let go.

Now,

Turn your attention to your mother.

And in a gentle but clear voice,

Ask her,

Ask her,

Mother,

Can I go to my father?

Notice what shifts within you after you ask this question.

Does something feel lighter?

Or is there still some resistance,

Some hesitance from her?

Maybe she's still not convinced.

This time,

Maybe go on your knees and ask her again.

Mother,

May I go to my father,

Please?

Look into her eyes and sense her response.

Maybe her grip loosens just a little.

Or maybe she's ready to release you fully.

Take another deep breath in.

And as you exhale,

Gently release your hand from hers.

Now,

As you let go of your mother,

Look into her eyes and say,

But you're still my mother.

And I'm still your child.

Feel the comfort in that truth as you slowly and joyfully move toward your father.

You may feel hesitant still to fully embrace him,

And that's okay.

When you're ready,

You might say to him,

Father,

It's been such a long time.

Sometimes I don't know who you are.

And sometimes I don't know who I am.

But with you around your arms,

I can walk through life with confidence.

I feel stronger with you beside me.

Please look at me just once more.

Look at me just once more.

Give me value just one more time.

I love you,

Father.

You are my father,

And I am your child.

And that will never change.

Take a deep breath in.

And exhale.

Allow yourself to feel any shifts within your body.

Maybe there is more space inside you.

Perhaps your heart feels more open,

Expanded.

Stay in this feeling for a moment.

And slowly begin to bring your awareness back to your body and surroundings.

Feel the ground beneath you supporting you.

Breathe in deeply.

And as you exhale,

Release any remaining tension.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes.

If you feel cold,

You can stand up slowly.

With your eyes closed,

You can put your hands in front of your shoulders with your palms facing forward.

And as you look at this guided imagery,

You extend your hands forward and take a step back,

You extend your hands forward and take a step back,

Gently detaching from this image.

You can shake off your body.

And thank yourself for taking this time.

Thank you for this practice.
