Good morning and welcome to this morning gratitude meditation.

I want you to start this meditation in bed before you even think about getting up and facing the day.

So as you lie there,

I want you to just feel into the softness of your body.

And take a moment if you need to,

If your body would like it to stretch.

Just move in any way,

Have a yawn,

Make that noise that you sometimes make in the morning.

And take a breath and come back into a relaxed,

Soft space.

Lying on your back with your legs relaxed,

Your hands and your arms relaxed.

And your body open.

So lying on your back,

Open and ready and receptive.

And I want us to just take a moment,

A moment of appreciation for this beautiful body that you've woken up in.

So take your attention all the way down into your toes.

And just give your toes the tiniest of wiggles just to let them know that you are thinking of them,

That you appreciate them.

And I want you to take your attention into your feet.

So your feet that are going to carry you through the day,

Your feet that are the connection between yourself and the energy of the earth,

Your grounding instruments.

Every step you take is a connection with Mother Earth,

With the energy of the earth.

And we don't often pay our feet too much attention.

So let's give them some love,

Give them some gratitude.

Let them know that we are grateful for carrying us through our days.

And then let's allow your attention to move upwards.

So through your ankles,

Into your calves and shins and up to your knees.

And our knees are like the shock absorbers between our connection with the earth and the chaos maelstrom,

The busyness of life that we enter into every day.

So our knees are this buffer,

These shock absorbers.

So let's give our knees some love.

They are such a precious joint.

So take your attention there and send in your mind's eye some warmth,

That warmth that holds love,

That holds gratitude and appreciation.

And let that swirl around in your knees.

And let that swirl around in your knees.

And then let's let the attention travel up through the thighs,

Those beautiful strong thigh muscles and strong thigh bones that carry us through life,

Carry us through our day.

So much gratitude and love for our legs.

So now taking your attention into your pelvis.

So many precious organs live here.

All our reproductive organs.

This is our center of joy,

Of creativity,

Of our emotions.

So just checking in with what's going on.

How do your hips feel?

If your hips could speak,

What would they say?

If your hips were to say,

Hi,

I'm hips and I feel.

Fill in that space.

How are they feeling?

Can you say the same about yourself?

Do your hips reflect how you are feeling?

And then let's take a moment to give our hips some love.

Let's take a moment to give our hips and all the organs that live within them our gratitude,

Our heartfelt gratitude.

And our love and our joy.

Thank you,

Hips.

Thank you,

Pelvis.

Okay,

So now drawing your attention upwards,

Up to your belly.

So within the belly,

Within the whole abdominal area,

How does that feel?

Does it feel beautifully relaxed and soft?

Feel into that.

Feel into the softness of your belly,

The release as you breathe.

So take a breath and really feel the belly sinking as you exhale.

Feel that softness there.

But as we feel into that softness,

We can also acknowledge that this is our center of power,

Of energy.

There,

Within the solar plexus,

Lies our engine room.

And as we take a deeper breath in once more,

Feel as though that energy of the air is gently blowing into the flames of that inner fire.

Just sparking the embers,

Giving you the energy to see yourself through the day.

Once we have that image in our minds of that beautiful fire within us coming to life,

Send gratitude.

How grateful we can be for this inner fire that allows us to get things done,

To be productive,

To feel like we have a sense of self and of purpose.

We have a place in the world.

So beautiful,

That gratitude as it comes into our belly.

Gratitude for our digestive system,

For nourishing us.

So give your abdomen,

Your belly,

Your digestive system and that inner fire your love,

Your gratitude.

And then drawing your attention upwards into your chest,

Into your heart center.

So first just settle into listening for your heartbeat.

The breath is quiet.

Just listen,

Observe your beautiful heart beating.

This in itself is something that we could be grateful for at any moment in the day.

Come back to that gratitude that is held within the heart,

The love that is held within the heart and feel it expand.

As you take a slightly deeper breath and feel the chest expand,

Feel the rib cage grow,

Feel the breath coming up to the collarbones.

Inhale that love and feel that love expand.

And as you exhale,

Feel that love coming back,

Concentrating back into the heart center.

So much love and gratitude for the heart,

For our lungs,

For our chest,

For these beautiful processes that happen whilst we are asleep,

Whilst we are not thinking about it,

That keep us alive,

That keep us present.

And then let's draw that attention down the arms and into the hands.

So again you can move your fingertips,

Maybe you've brought your hands onto your trunk,

Onto your heart or your belly.

Take them away now and just let them be soft lying on the mattress.

And just think about all the miraculous things that your hands enable you to do every day.

And send them your love,

Your gratitude.

Think of the skillful things that your hands can do,

The unique activities,

The things that only your hands can do and be so grateful.

And with each time you begin to feel into that gratitude,

Feel that gratitude swelling within your heart.

And then allow your attention to come up into your neck,

This precious channel through which so many important organs travel,

Your windpipe and your esophagus,

Your spinal cord,

Your nerves,

Your voice box,

Your thyroid gland.

Here by your jaw,

Your mouth,

This is your place of expression,

Of communication.

So think into,

Feel into the gratitude that you have for your ability to communicate,

For your ability to express yourself,

To make noise,

To be heard,

To laugh.

So feel into the joy of honest,

Authentic communication and be grateful that you have this capability.

Even if it's sometimes a challenge,

We know that the potential is there.

It may be that you feel like making a noise as you bring your attention there into your throat.

So make that noise,

Even if it's just a satisfying moan,

Whatever comes naturally to you,

Be grateful.

Send your throat,

Your mouth and your ears some love,

Some gratitude that you can hear,

That you can listen to music,

That you can listen to the birds singing.

Let's continue upwards towards the forehead,

Where your inner knowing lies.

So let's take a moment to acknowledge that we have this communication with our inner self,

With our own guidance.

And take a moment to be so grateful that you can trust that inner guidance,

That higher self,

That it knows what is right for you.

So take a moment and just feel into guidance and listen to what it is saying for you today.

So now let's take ourselves upwards,

Up and beyond the crown of the head,

Up to this place of connection.

And here we can begin to see that we are part of a huge world,

But we are an integral,

Important part,

Because we are all one.

Everybody in this world,

Every living thing is connected because we live on this beautiful planet.

So take a moment to think about the stars above your head that you can no longer see because the sun has maybe come out already.

Think about our place on this planet,

Orbiting a sun,

Which is only one of billions within this galaxy.

And this galaxy is only one of billions and billions of galaxies in our universe.

And the miracle,

The sheer miraculous beauty that we exist.

So feel into that immense gratitude,

That immense love that we have for our place on this planet.

So taking a beautiful,

Big,

Deep inhalation.

And with the exhalation allowing your body to soften.

And just gently run your mind's eye back down through your body,

Still giving love and gratitude for what is within you.

Because everything you need,

You already have within you.

So much gratitude and love for your inner knowing,

For your communication,

For your beautiful heart and the love that it holds.

For your power,

For your place in this world,

For your emotions,

And for your foundations,

Your stability and your groundedness.

So another breath,

A little movement of the fingers,

A little movement of the toes.

Give yourself another beautiful,

Big stretch.

Gently open your eyes and you are ready to face this day.

I hope you have a fantastic day.

Sending you so much love.
