Simple and quick, this grounding and centering practise is one of my personal favorites. I use it all the time, both for myself as for my private clients. This practise helps you to establish and strengthen the inner pillar of light that supports a feeling of groundedness and being centered, which will support your day unfolding in a more grounded and connected way.

Welcome to this easy centering and grounding practice.

Please find a place to sit comfortably,

Where you won't be disturbed for the next couple of minutes.

It's helpful for this practice to close your eyes,

To minimize distractions and to keep your focus on your own energy.

Now,

When you find your place,

Close your eyes,

Become aware of your body,

Just sitting.

Feel the clothes on your body,

Feel the air flowing past your skin,

And listen to the sounds around you,

Close by and further away.

Shift your awareness to your breath,

At first just by noticing where your breath is right now.

Then invite your breath to go all the way down into your belly.

Breathe in and out as if breathing through your belly button.

Notice the effect this sort of breathing has on your body,

On your mind.

And then bring your attention to your tailbone.

Imagine a beautiful grounding chord going down from your tailbone into the earth.

Just try to visualize or imagine this grounding chord,

Give it a color.

Whatever form this takes is perfectly fine right now.

Imagine,

Visualize or feel this energetic chord going deeper and deeper into the earth.

Past the layers of soil and rock and minerals until it reaches the center of the earth.

Imagine it fastening itself there.

And then imagine that through this chord you can breathe up grounding and stabilizing earth energy.

Imagine it having a color.

Feel that energy enter your body at the tailbone and then flow it all the way through your body,

Energizing all of your cells on this path.

Continue to breathe in slowly and deeply,

Exhaling completely.

And realize that each time you make your out-breath longer than your in-breath,

You relax,

You slow down,

You connect to yourself.

And then when you follow that earth energy all the way up,

Allow it to flow through your crown into the sky above your head.

Maybe just follow this flow once more all the way from your tailbone to the crown of your head.

And then imagine that from the farthest reaches of the universe,

Something like a central star,

There's a beam of light coming your way.

Imagine it having a color too.

Imagine this beautiful light,

Which is inspirational and creative in nature,

Flowing in through your crown and then flowing down through your head,

Your neck,

Your chest,

And your stomach,

Down through your legs and through your feet into the ground.

Again,

Just follow this flow of energy,

This universal inspirational energy.

Follow it all the way from your crown down to your feet.

And while you breathe in that universal energy,

You also keep on breathing in that earth energy.

And you realize that there is like an axis creating in your body,

Like a central axis that we call the axis of being,

The axis of presence.

It's a vertical axis that is consisting of both the earth energy and the sky energy together.

And by focusing on that axis,

That central line in your body,

You center yourself,

You bring yourself back to your being.

After a few breaths,

Just like this,

Slowly bring yourself back to the here and now,

To your body in the chair,

Breathing deeply to reawaken your body.

And then when you feel ready,

You open your eyes,

You're fully present and back in your own room,

In your own space.

Thank you for taking the time to look after yourself,

To ground and center.

Namaste.

Really good. I was feeling pretty down and muggy. This really helped dust myself off. If that makes any sense. Thank you a bunch. Hope to see more versions of grounding and centering! :))
