Welcome to a guided evening meditation for deep relaxation.
Tonight there is nowhere that you need to go.
Nothing left to accomplish.
Nothing left to prove.
The day is complete.
This time belongs to you.
Allow yourself to settle into your bed.
Feel the mattress beneath you.
The pillow supporting your head.
Blankets gently resting over your body.
And take a slow,
Easy breath in through your nose.
And slowly let it go.
Again.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
One more gentle breath.
Allowing your exhale to become longer than your inhale.
Imagine that every exhale is a quiet invitation.
An invitation to soften.
To slow down.
To let go.
There is nothing to force.
Your body already knows how to rest.
It simply needs permission.
Now bring your awareness to the top of your head.
Imagine a warm wave of relaxation beginning there.
Sock.
Gentle.
Comforting.
As the warm sunlight is slowly melting away any tension you've been carrying.
Feel your scalp soften.
The tiny muscles around your forehead begin to smooth.
The space between your eyebrows relaxes.
Your eyes become heavy.
Resting comfortably in their sockets.
Your cheeks soften.
Your jaw loosens.
Perhaps your lips part ever so slightly.
Your tongue relaxes.
There is nothing left to say tonight.
Nothing left to explain.
Allow that warmth to drift into your neck.
Releasing any effort that you've been holding there.
Then into your shoulders.
Notice how much they've carried today.
See if they can become just a little heavier.
Imagine the muscles melting.
Like ice becoming water beneath the warmth of the sun.
Nothing forced.
Simply allowing gravity to do its work.
The warmth flows down your arms.
Into your elbows.
Your forearms.
Wrists.
Your palms.
Every finger softens nothing left to hold.
Nothing left to grasp.
Now bring your attention to your chest.
Notice your breathing.
Slow Study.
Natural.
Your heart has carried you through this day.
Tonight,
It can rest.
The warmth spreads into your upper back,
Your shoulder blades.
Your ribs the muscles between them.
Everything softening.
Everything releasing Now your belly.
See if you can let it rise and fall without effort.
Without holding.
Without bracing.
There is nothing your body needs to protect against in this moment.
Your belly is free to soften completely.
Allow the warmth to move into your lower back.
Your hips.
Your pelvis.
Imagine these larger muscles becoming heavy.
Melting into the mattress beneath you.
As though the bed is gently receiving your entire weight.
Feel that wave continue into your thighs,
The front,
The back.
The sides.
Every muscle unwinding.
Down into your knees.
Your calves.
Your shins your ankles your feet.
Even your toes soften.
Now notice your whole body from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes.
Everything is becoming heavier.
Warmer.
Softer.
As though your body is slowly melting into the bed.
Supported completely.
And held completely.
Safe to let go.
Take another slow breath in.
Imagine that with every exhale your body melts just a little more deeply.
10% softer.
10% heavier.
10% more relaxed.
There is nowhere to hold tension anymore.
If your mind begins to wander,
That's ok.
Simply return to the feeling of your body,
Heavy,
Warm.
Supported.
Like a snowflake settling gently onto fresh snow or a leaf floating quietly to the forest floor.
Effortless.
Natural.
Now silently repeat,
My body knows how to rest.
I release the day.
I soften with every breath.
I am safe to relax completely.
I welcome deep,
Nourishing sleep.
Imagine now that your entire body is wrapped in a cocoon of warmth.
Saw.
Comfortable.
Peaceful.
The outside world grows quieter.
Your breathing slows.
Your heartbeat becomes a gentle rhythm.
Everything within you is settling.
There is nothing left to do.
Nothing left to think about.
Nothing left to carry.
Only rest.
Only stillness.
Only this gentle unfolding into sleep.
Take one final slow breath in.
And let it drift out effortlessly.
Feel yourself becoming heavier still.
As though the bed is cradling every part of you.
Sleep is welcome here.
And if it hasn't arrived yet.
Simply continue to rest.
One breath at a time.
One gentle exhale at a time.
Allow yourself to drift naturally.
Knowing your body remembers the way.
