Welcome to this meditation for finding solid ground.
When life feels uncertain.
Find a position that allows your body to soften.
You may be seated with both feet resting on the floor.
Lying comfortably on your back.
Or settling into any position that feels supportive.
Allow your eyes to gently close if that feels comfortable.
There is nowhere to be.
Nothing to fix.
Nothing to figure out.
For these next few moments,
Simply allow yourself to arrive.
Take a slow breath in through the nose.
And gently sigh it out through the mouth.
Again.
Breathing in.
And letting go.
One more time.
A slow,
Nourishing inhale.
And a long,
Steady exhale.
Notice that even if your thoughts are racing even if your heart feels heavy.
Even if life feels uncertain.
Your breath continues.
Quietly.
.
.
Faithfully always returning.
Now bring your awareness to the places where your body meets the earth.
Perhaps your feet touch the floor.
Perhaps your hips rest on a chair.
Perhaps your back is supported beneath you.
Without changing anything,
Simply notice the support that is already here.
Feel the weight of your body.
There is no effort required.
The earth is holding you.
Imagine that with every exhale,
Your body becomes just a little heavier.
Your shoulders soften.
Your jaw relaxes.
The muscles around your eyes release.
Your belly no longer needs to hold everything together.
There is nothing you have to carry right now.
Only this moment.
Now imagine roots gently extending from your body.
If you're seated,
Perhaps they grow from the soles of your feet.
If you're laying down,
Perhaps they spread from every place your body touches the earth.
These roots travel downward through the floor.
Through the foundation beneath you.
Into the soil.
Past stones.
Past streams.
Past layers of ancient earth.
With every breath,
They grow stronger.
Not rushed.
Not force.
Simply finding their way home.
Notice that trees do not become frightened because the wind arrives.
They deepen their roots.
The stronger the storm.
The deeper they anchor.
You are allowed to do the same.
Life may be changing.
Plans may feel uncertain.
Answers may not yet exist.
But uncertainty does not mean you are unsafe.
It simply means you are standing at the edge of something you cannot see yet.
And even here,
There is ground beneath you.
Take a slow breath.
Feel your roots Feel the quiet strength that lives beneath the surface.
There is a steadiness within you that circumstances cannot take away.
That has carried you through every difficult season that you've ever known.
It is here now.
Perhaps you ask yourself gently,
What is supporting me that I haven't noticed.
Allow whatever arises or simply enjoy the silence.
Now ask,
What can I trust today?
Not next year.
Not next month.
Just today.
Perhaps it is your breath.
Perhaps the people who love you.
Perhaps the sunrise.
Your resilience.
Your willingness to begin again.
You do not need certainty to take one next step.
You only need enough ground beneath this one.
Imagine yourself standing on a wide,
Steady path.
You cannot see the entire journey ahead.
A gentle mist rests over the distance.
But beneath your feet,
The earth is solid.
One step.
Than another.
The path appears as you walk it.
Not before.
Take a few slow breaths here.
Breathing in stability.
Breathing out fear Breathing in,
Trust.
Breathing out the need to know everything.
Allow these words to settle wherever they are needed.
I do not need all the answers to move forward.
I can feel uncertain and still be grounded.
The Earth supports me.
My breath anchors me.
My body remembers safety.
I trust myself to meet whatever comes.
Take one final deep breath in.
Exhaling it out.
Notice once more the weight of your body.
The support beneath you.
The steadiness that has been here all along.
When you're ready,
Begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Perhaps gently roll your shoulders.
And if your eyes are closed,
Slowly invite the light back in.
Carry this feeling with you today.
The ground has never asked you to have everything figured out before it holds you.
And neither do you.
