Little Ryry's Big Dream by R.

M.

Bode.

Ryry is 10 years old and has one big dream.

He wishes he could be a goalkeeper on a soccer team.

Ryry practices and trains on his own,

But he wants to play in a team not all alone.

You see Ryry had tried out for the soccer team the day before.

It wasn't the joyful experience he was searching for.

The other kids teased Ryry for being a goalkeeper who was so short.

They shouted for him to go try out for another sport.

Ryry lost belief in himself and started to listen to the doubts.

He left after that day feeling sad from hearing all of the kids negative shouts.

Ryry needed to regain confidence because he still wanted to play.

Ryry was rested and ready to try again today.

Ryry showed up to tryouts with a fierce and determined look in his eyes.

He was ready to show everyone how good of a goalkeeper he was,

No matter his size.

The coach yelled,

Hey little Ryry,

Let's see what you got.

Go protect the goal.

Let's see if you can even block a shot.

He's too small.

He's too short.

He'll never stop the ball.

Find a new sport,

Some players began to shout.

But Ryry was so focused he blocked all that negativity out.

The first player stepped up and kicked the ball toward the corner of the goal,

Both high and wide.

Ryry exploded off the ground like a rocket and dove to his side.

Ryry came down with the ball as he landed on the ground.

The players were all silent,

Nobody made a sound.

Player after player took their chances,

But none could get the ball through.

The soccer ball seemed to stick to Ryry's gloves like they were glue.

Those players that teased Ryry came over to apologize.

They learned they should never judge a person's ability because of their appearance or size.

Ryry continued to shine with his talents and skill.

He showed his true courage,

Conviction,

And will.

At the end of the tryouts there was absolutely no more doubts or questions at all.

Ryry was the best goalkeeper to stop any player who was shooting the soccer ball.

Ryry was brave with self-belief that was strong.

Instead of fighting back with words,

He let his actions prove the doubters wrong.

Through perseverance and belief in himself,

Ryry had achieved his dream.

Little Ryry is now the goalkeeper on his very own soccer team.

Thank you for listening to Little Ryry's story.

I hope you learned something valuable and new.

Enjoy the rest of your day and night and remember there is no limit to all you can do.
