Chuck Taylor,
The cat,
And Crow,
A magical team.
Their shop sat snug by the cafe,
The cross from the shop filled with books,
With herbs and elixirs and comforting nooks.
Crow was a friendly witch,
Her feathers were black,
Her heart glowed warm,
There was no magic lack.
She brewed up kindness with lavender hue,
While Chuck Taylor stirred gently and purred,
That will do.
The shelves were all shiny with jars full of care,
With cinnamon,
Honey,
And calm in the air.
No tricks,
No curses,
Just brews that could mend.
Sweet little potions to help hearts ascend.
Halloween neared and the streets came alive,
Costumes and laughter began to arrive.
Apples and cinnamon,
The scent in the breeze,
Pumpkins and laughter beneath glowing trees.
But there were some faces,
Frightful and dry.
Chuck Taylor heard the whispers as children walked by.
Black cats bring bad luck,
You don't want them around.
Chuck Taylor's tail drooped low as he gazed to the ground.
Crow perched on her cauldron and gave a small grin.
My friend,
That's a myth,
We'll change it from within.
We'll stir up some courage,
Compassion,
And cheer.
A Halloween elixir to warm every fear.
Crow fluttered close with a gleam in her eye.
Let's mix up some magic to lift spirits high.
No fright or fear,
But warmth and cheer.
A Halloween elixir,
Let's brew it right here.
They gathered the moonlight and laughter and spice,
A spoonful of courage,
A dash of nice.
Crow stirred the cauldron with shimmering grace,
While Chuck Taylor watched the light upon her face.
They added the glow of Jack-O-Lantern's smile,
Giggles and laughter that echoed a while.
A spark from lightning and a whisper amongst the throng.
A kindness enough to keep hearts strong.
The cauldron swirled golden with shimmering light.
It bubbled and sparkled,
Such a marvelous sight.
They bottled the elixir in ribbons of gold.
With tags that read softly,
Four hearts to hold.
They flew through downtown,
Crow gliding on air,
Chuck Taylor trotting softly around pumpkins and patrons with care.
Soon the giggles returned and all drew near.
Kindness replaced every trace of fright or fear.
When moonlight danced on the fountain's rim,
Crow perched by the window and smiled at him.
See Chuck Taylor,
She whispered,
Your heart shines true.
That's the real magic in all that we do.
Chuck Taylor purred with pride,
Tail swaying slow.
He said,
I guess even black cats can help love grow.
And together they watched as downtown came alive,
Where everyone's light could freely thrive.
As lanterns flickered and laughter grew deep,
Downtown drifted slowly towards slumber and sleep.
Crow folded her wings,
Chuck Taylor curled in his chair.
The cauldron still shimmered with light in the air.
Outside every pumpkin glowed gentle and bright,
Each window a beacon of comfort that night.
No longer were whispers of bad luck or fright,
Only friendship and kindness beneath silver moonlight.
Remember that magic is kindness,
Courage with care.
The most powerful elixir is the love that we share.
