Acceptance can be a tricky concept for most of us and is almost like a double-edged sword where one part can serve us and the other can destroy us. But in its truest sense acceptance heals us and gives us power to create and thrive in life. This meditation will not only help you to accept your current circumstances but also use them to your advantage to create a life where you can thrive.

Namaste and welcome to today's meditation on acceptance.

Now when we think of the term acceptance,

For a lot of us it can feel like surrendering,

Like resigning,

Accepting something that you don't want to accept perhaps.

But acceptance can be a beautiful concept and emotion if we understand it correctly.

Acceptance can feel like a weight for a lot of us but it's not,

It doesn't have to be.

So let me guide you through a new perspective on acceptance through this meditation.

I invite you to close your eyes and take a deep inhale and exhale.

One more deep inhale and exhale.

One more deep inhale and exhale.

Take a moment to check in with your body.

Keep your spine straight.

Relax your face,

Your eyebrows,

Drop your shoulders and come back gently to your breath.

Just observe your breath.

No judgment.

With the next inhale,

I want you to reflect on what comes up for you as you repeat the word Acceptance.

Acceptance.

Acceptance.

How does your body feel?

Does it feel heavy,

Light,

Tight or open?

Warm or cool?

Take a moment to connect with your body as you repeat the word Acceptance in your mind.

As a next step,

Focus on any emotions that might be coming up for you as you are repeating the word Acceptance.

Can you label the emotion or emotions that are coming up?

How does the word acceptance make you feel?

Are the feelings negative or positive?

Negative emotions are simply the ones that make you feel unpleasant and the positive ones make you feel pleasant.

Keep tapping in to your body and your emotions.

Finally,

Connect with the energy that might be radiating from your being.

Does it feel big?

Does it feel open?

Expansive?

High?

Or does it feel closed and maybe low?

Take a moment to connect by visualizing the energy around your body and how does that feel?

Now as you put together the body,

The emotions and the energy together of the word acceptance for you,

Is there a phrase that you can use to define all three in relation to the concept of acceptance?

Take a few moments to come up with a phrase that can help you put together all the three,

The body,

Emotions and energy.

This phrase will give you a great indication as to what your current relationship with acceptance is.

Is it a positive one?

Or a negative one?

Or maybe a neutral one?

This is an important practice to start because it gives you where you currently are with acceptance.

Now for the next few moments,

I want you to flip that phrase into something positive for you.

If your phrase was negative,

You can use this affirmation.

Acceptance is good and it opens up more opportunities for me than I could ever imagine.

You may repeat this affirmation a few times in your mind.

Come back to your breath.

Just observation for the next few moments.

Now knowing that acceptance opens up opportunities for you.

What is that in your life that you're willing to accept?

That you're willing to bring acceptance in your life?

Is it a situation?

A person?

Or simply an area of your life?

Once you choose to accept it,

What do you think you can create from there?

Acceptance demands creation.

So when we start on the path of acceptance,

We can't stop just there.

We have to create as part of it as well.

So whichever area,

Person or situation you're choosing to bring acceptance into,

What will you create within that?

If it's a person,

Will you create more love,

Harmony,

Better relationship?

If it's an area,

What inspired action will you take to create?

Take a few moments to reflect on these questions.

We will be ending today's meditation with an agreement that from today,

For the next 7 days,

You will choose to create intentional creation in the area,

Person or situation that you're choosing to bring acceptance into.

You may choose to journal right after this meditation to bring more action steps into your life.
