Hello my friends,
Welcome to the open your heart meditation.
I'll be your guide.
I want you to get really comfortable.
This meditation is really about getting cozy with yourself,
Feeling really grounded and at home in your heart space.
So that means if it feels better to lie down,
Please do so.
If you like to sit in a chair or in the typical meditation position,
That is great as well.
But wherever you are going to feel the most cozy and also if you need to go get a blanket,
Go get a cup of tea,
Put on some diffuser with essential oils,
Really create the space for you to immerse yourself in this practice.
Create the space for yourself so you can pause,
Go get what you need to.
If you're ready,
Then you can keep going.
So a lot of times in this world,
We are moving very quickly.
We are very much in our mind.
We are very much in our heads.
We don't come down into the body very often.
And that is why movement can be so good for us.
But we also want to bring the awareness into the body whenever we notice ourselves being taken out into the mind into the stories.
A wonderful quote that I love from Abraham Hicks is,
Worry is putting yourself in the future where you have none of the resources of the present.
So when we go and we worry about things that are happening now,
We are putting ourselves in the future with none of the tools we have in the present moment.
In the present moment we have breath,
We have the feeling of wind against our skin,
The smell of essential oils or incense or Palo Santo or sage that you might have have litten.
We have our senses and we can ground ourselves in our bodies and this present moment.
So this is a wonderful meditation to do if you are hoping to get more intimate with yourself.
If you are hoping to ground yourself,
If you feel a lot of anxious feelings.
So let's begin.
Take a few deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth.
As you exhale out through the mouth,
Imagine moving into your body.
So imagine a beam of light going from your forehead all the way down your body,
Scanning it.
And as that breath is exhaled,
You feel that scan go down your body.
Okay,
Now that we are in the body,
I want you to start bringing your attention to the heart space.
See if you can sense your heartbeat in the center of your chest.
If it helps,
Place your hand one hand on top of the other in the center of the chest to really start to feel that heartbeat and bring your awareness to the space of the body.
All the distractions,
All the worries,
They melt away when we move into this present moment and we move into this space of the heart.
It's almost like a dust clearing or shaking the dust off of our hearts.
We're bringing the light back,
The awareness back to the sacred place of our hearts.
Coming into this space can sometimes be very vulnerable and therefore make us feel a little uncomfortable.
We bring our awareness to this place in our hearts and we immediately start thinking of something else.
Our mind goes on to the next thing we must be doing,
The way we messed up yesterday,
That conversation we had with a boss or a loved one.
And we don't want to stay in the heart space.
But stay with it.
This is how we open.
We breathe into that space.
There's almost a throb.
When I go into this space,
I feel the tightness,
I feel those knots around my heart that have come through experience,
Through words,
Through things that have hurt me throughout my life.
I feel those knotted places around my heart.
And this is why we want to move on.
This is why we tend to move away.
But right here,
Right now,
Stay.
If your hands aren't on your heart,
Place your hands there now.
Tell yourself in your head or out loud.
I love you.
I'm listening.
Let those words infiltrate those knotted places.
I love you.
I'm listening.
It is safe.
Let those words penetrate deep into that heart space.
Into the true mystery that is this place on our body known as the heart.
Breathe into those knotted places.
Breathe into the walls you created.
As we stay with these walls,
As we stay with the tightness that is there for protection,
As we assure it,
I love you.
I am listening.
We start to sense the tenderness,
The softness,
The purity of our hearts.
That tender place in us that resonates with others.
That tender place that we want so badly to know.
When I breathe into this place,
I sometimes feel almost like a knot in my chest,
A knot in my throat,
A lump in my throat,
Almost like right before tears come.
That is the space we want to hold.
That is the space we want to remind.
I love you.
I am listening.
Breathing into the tender space of heart.
Recognizing that this place is your goodness.
This is your purity.
This is who you are.
All the mistakes,
All the things you may have done,
Ways you may have hurt people,
Mistakes you may have made,
They were all just an attempt to protect this place.
But as we take this time to open to our hearts,
To tell them,
I love you.
I am listening.
To feel into that lump in our throat and untie those knots around our hearts.
We start to recognize that they don't need protection.
That we can stand firmly in this place of love and light and vulnerability and openness safely.
That all the stories we've told ourselves about how we're not good enough or how we don't deserve what we want or how we've made mistakes or how we're not a good person.
We see all of them as untrue.
As we stay in the place of our hearts,
We stay open.
We recognize the light within our heart space that we are always welcome to stand in.
That light that is always there for us if only we are willing to stay open,
To listen,
To connect to our hearts.
As we resurface,
Take one more deep breath into that heart space.
Hold it.
Feel the expansion of the chest and let go.
Know this place is always welcome.
You are always welcome to revisit this space.
Remember that it's there.
Remember who you are.
As you're ready,
Open your eyes.
