Details

Join us for a unique Yoga and Sail Retreat from the 10th to the 17th of October 2026 in Greece, starting and finishing in Gouvia Marina - Corfu. This is a once-in-a-lifetime immersive yoga and sailing experience in collaboration with Yacht Master Instructor Blair from XP at Sea Sailing. If you looking for a meaningful retreat to recharge body and mind, deepen your spiritual practice, explore or deepen your knowledge of sailing, spend mindful time with yourself and other like-minded people, visit different villages in beautiful Greece, and enjoy the Greek cuisine, then this is the one for you! Each day will include intentional yoga practices, opportunities to engage with yoga philosophy, and sailing guidance that allow you to connect with nature, cultivating presence and harmony as you navigate both the sea and your inner world. Each day we sail to another location (weather dependant). This retreat encourages spiritual exploration and personal growth whilst enjoying time to relax, have fun, recharge, and visit stunning places. It is best suited for those curious about a deeper connection with yourself, enjoy sailing, are ready to fully engage with the yoga practices offered, and are open to self-reflection and introspection. We set sail from Corfu to explore different areas in Greece at sea and on land. Every morning, there will be a classical yoga session followed by breakfast and sailing. Alternating days, there will be a yoga nidra before or after lunch, or a satsang and meditation in the evening. Flexibility is key as we are reliant on the weather for sailing and for the asana practices. It is your choice if you would like to get actively involved in sailing or if you prefer to relax and enjoy the sailing journey. Blair is a brilliant guide. If you want to learn more about sailing or improve your skills (sailtrimming, parking, planning, MOB, for example), he will provide guidance at your level. There will be many opportunities to explore villages and beaches, go for swims, relax, and indulge in the Greek cuisine.

Your accomodation is the Sun Odyssey 440 Sailing Yacht! It is incredibly important on a Yoga and Sail Retreat to be comfortable at all time. The Sun Odyssey 440 sailing yacht built in 2019, has 4 double cabins, each with individual mattresses made from modern foam technology for singular sleeping comfort. 1 large cabin is perfect for sharing (BOOKED), the other 2 perfect for solo travellers. The spacious galley area means that preparing and eating meals below is a pleasure, however why sit below when the sun will be shining on the incredible open deck and cockpit. Twin helming positions mean we can sail in style maintaining good balance as the boat heels, not to mention the easy-to-use touch-screen plotter a short glance away. With an in-mast reefing mainsail we can operate the sails from the cockpit. Simple and efficient. Two heads available, along with two water tanks meaning a warm shower is never an issue. The low down swimming platform makes taking the plunge even more attractive. Overall, our modern monohulled yacht means we can really easily take advantage of nature's power and she will take us to wonderful places so we can focus on the yogic practices that are the main reason for joining us. With such a beautiful location on a yacht, we believe there is no better way to recharge the mind, body and soul!

Meals

Meals provided

Breakfast · Lunch

Diets catered

Vegetarian · Vegan · Dairy-free

On board, we strive to provide tasty and healthy vegetarian options for both breakfast and lunch. From traditional fruit and yoghurt with an option to add honey, to Greek salads and pittas. Of course, you get to have your say in the lead-up to the trip. Vegan and dairy-free requirements can be catered for. Please do let us know about dietary requirements when booking (there will be a field for this in the waiver form you will be sent when booking). On board, there will be no alcohol or meat allowed. As you cannot experience culture without enjoying the local cuisine, the evening meals will be taken ashore at the local venues and restaurants that pervade the coastal towns and marinas that we will be visiting. Enjoy a bit of moussaka or keep it vegetarian with a delicious spanakopita. There are many options for you to sample and delight in. Evening meals are not included. You are most welcome to get dinner supplies and use the kitchen if you prefer to stay a night in. If you would like to have a glass of wine or a cocktail or a meat dish ashore, that is totally up to you. We are asking to treat the journey mindfully, including what you put into your body.

Schedule

Every day, we start with a wholesome yoga class before breakfast. This could be on a beach, in the marina, or another beautiful spot. In the unlikely event that the weather doesn't allow us to be outside, the session will be moved on board and consists of philosophy, breathing, meditation, and mantra. After breakfast, we set sail for a new destination as long as the weather allows. We will stop for lunch and/or swim, followed by yoga nidra on alternating days. We then continue to our end destination for the day, where there is time to explore villages and have dinner. On alternating days, there will be Satsang and meditation. Possible destinations: From Corfu - Gouvia Marina, we set sail for Sivota, which is a beautiful coastal town with plenty of bars and restaurants. The Sivota Islands group is just offshore – Nisis Ay Nikolaos, Nisis Sivota, and Nisis Mavros Notos. These rugged islands have long been popular with cruisers as good places to swim and unwind. Next up will be the island of Paxos, with the first stop being Lakka Bay. Going ashore is simple, and we can enjoy an afternoon here before the short hop to Gaios down the eastern coastline. Gaios is a natural harbour with a winding entrance that must be seen to be believed. Across the open sea on the mainland sits Parga, with its cascading buildings of spectacular colours. Be sure to bring your camera! If the weather allows, we could travel back north to Petriti and anchor up at one of the Ionian's glorious sandy beaches, where you have the option of a range of activities available. As we return to the island of Corfu, the choices open up. One option is to visit the old Venetian Fortress at Mandraki Harbour, within striking distance of Corfu Town, abounding with bars and restaurants. This is a sample itinerary and is subject to weather conditions and other considerations.

Testimonials

I had a great time on this trip in Greece! As a novice sailor and not very experienced yogi, it was a great learning experience and great to see how what I learnt from yoga can be applied to sailing and vice versa. Blair was a great teacher who explained the basics of sailing to me throughout the trip and encouraged me to apply the newly learnt skills during our daily sailing sessions. Ingrid really immersed us in the world of yoga. She started the journey with some lighter and meditative exercises, developed them further and increased the level of difficulty day by day. I enjoyed learning to be present and fully embrace the experience. Having a group from all over the world made this trip very special and I hope that the friendships made on board will live on. All in all, I can only recommend the sailing-yoga retreat! You will have an unforgettable experience!

The Yoga & Sailing retreat is exactly what it says it is. To be honest I was expecting yoga to be just the exercise part but was pleasantly surprised to be immersed in a holistic yoga experience which I thoroughly enjoyed and which has stayed with me since. I already had some sailing experience but Blair is an amazing hands-off (hands-on for us!) instructor and I learnt more from him in one week than ever before. I would definitely go back for a repeat! Both Ingrid and Blair are lovely people who (I hope) have become lifelong friends.

I had a wonderful time on the Yoga and Sail Retreat. I had already completed the Competent Crew course but really lacked confidence and Blair’s teaching has helped enormously! He is extremely calm and patient and explains things very clearly. On top of an amazing sailing trip, exploring beautiful marinas and numerous swim stops along the way, we started each day practicing yoga to the sunrise looking out to sea, with a range of different types of relaxation and meditation techniques throughout the trip. It truly was a memorable experience and I could not have found better people to share it with, I believe I have made friends for life and hope to continue both my yoga and sailing journeys incorporating everything I have learned from the trip!

I had a great time on the Yoga and Sail Retreat jointly run by XP at Sea and Petals and Aum. I didn’t really know what to expect when I arrived, but it was a great week. Yoga was woven in throughout the day which was an incredible experience but could also be intense. I learnt a ton which I try to practice in daily life particularly when struggling mentally. Blair helped me build on my sailing skills and confidence whilst skippering. Another great trip!

An amazing spiritual adventure! The “Yoga and Sail Retreat” exceeded all our expectations. The setting is idyllic: Greece’s Ionian Sea in October, with its picturesque harbours, beaches and rocky coves empty of the summer hordes and heat while still warm, both in and on the water. Skilled teachers Ingrid van Oostrom and Blair Scott have developed a learning experience like no other. Learning to sail while training in physical and mental yoga could not be more complementary activities. Ingrid’s yoga is well-rooted in the Indian tradition, with on-shore physical asana sessions each dawn. Relaxing yoga nidra guided meditations and satsang, or discussions of yogic philosophy, followed in the afternoon or evening. Simple and delicious breakfasts and lunch aboard were followed by great Greek dinners and village exploration ashore in the evenings. In between, the days were filled with sun, swimming and sailing between the islands and the mainland under Blair’s expert tutelage. His “learn-by-doing” approach to tacking and jibing, sail trimming, route planning, knots, and – most importantly – understanding the wind and the sea, left us eager for more sailing in our lives. Ingrid’s yoga instruction has helped us bring more awareness to everything we do.
