SOMA: A Sacred Music Immersion in Costa Rica Nestled in the lush jungles of Costa Rica, between river and sea, Roots of Devotion is a six-day journey into sacred music, embodiment, and community. This immersive retreat invites participants to rediscover their voice as a channel for healing, prayer, and celebration through a tapestry of song, ritual, and nature connection. Each day blends sacred music workshops, voice-opening practices, and evening devotional circles beneath the stars. Participants explore music as a spiritual practice, guided by facilitators Larisa Gosla, Emil Johannes, and Ixchel Munay, each bringing their gifts in voice, rhythm, embodiment, and ceremony. Together they create a safe and loving container for expression, transformation, and deep connection. The experience includes opportunities for movement and somatic awakening, frame drum and rhythm training, kirtan and cacao ceremonies, and healing sound journeys. Days are balanced with time for rest, massages, river walks, and farm-to-table meals, all surrounded by pristine jungle and ocean views. Accommodations range from jungle cabins to luxurious ocean-view casitas at Yacumama Eco Village in Ojochal, offering comfort immersed in nature’s beauty. Designed for anyone longing to sing, pray, and reconnect with spirit and community, Roots of Devotion is more than a retreat. It is an invitation to remember who we are, to open our voices, and to live devotion through every breath.

YACUMAMA is a regenerative community land project in Costa Rica. A space for community & connection to the deepest parts of ourselves and all life. A cultural center for transformational experiences for the evolution of humanity. We are so happy that you found your way here and that we get to share a little about Yacumama with you. Creating Yacumama is a response to a spirit mission given to many of us to create eco-villages, sanctuaries, food forests, temples, & places we can come together in connection. Our deepest prayer for Yacumama is to create a living field of unity where the illusion of separation dissolves, a place to remember who we truly are and be inspired to be more loving humans, standing powerfully in our purpose as devoted stewards of this earth. This living field is alive, growing, and evolving as we listen. We are exploring new and ancient ways of living in community rooted in sacred reciprocity, connection & regeneration.
