Highlights

  • Where ceremony meets the shoreline.

  • Three days of music, presence, ritual, and remembering what matters most

Details

There are places that invite us to slow down enough to hear ourselves again. Assateague is one of those places. Surrounded by the rhythm of the ocean, the movement of the wild horses, and the wisdom of the natural world, Sacred Shoreline Circle is a three-day ceremonial gathering devoted to presence, connection, and remembrance. Together, we will create a small circle of community and reflection through ceremony, music, movement, storytelling, nature immersion, and shared meals around the fire. This experience is not about becoming someone new. It is about returning to what has always been within you. Whether you are navigating a transition, seeking clarity, longing for deeper connection, or simply feeling called to the land, you are invited to step away from the noise of daily life and into a space of intentional presence. This gathering is designed to be intimate, supportive, and deeply human.

Assateague Island National Seashore is a protected area on a long barrier island off the coast of Maryland and Virginia. It’s known for its Atlantic beaches and for trails that wind through marshland, dunes and pine forest. In the south, Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge is home to wild Chincoteague ponies, bald eagles and migratory seabirds. Near Toms Cove is the working, 19th-century Assateague Lighthouse.

Schedule

The retreat begins with arrival and camp setup, followed by a welcome gathering, opening ceremony, a sunset beach walk, and a fireside connection circle to establish community. The second day focuses on deep presence and connection with nature through morning meditation and movement, beach and land immersion, reflective journaling, a “Music as Medicine” session, a shared community dinner, and an evening ceremony under the stars. The third day supports integration with a sunrise gathering, a closing reflection circle, integration practices, and a formal closing ceremony. The experience concludes on the fourth day with an optional sunrise gathering before participants depart by mid-morning.
