Details

What is the root of this training? To integrate the practice of meditation into the professional, educational, therapeutic and community contexts in which we move. This course offers a practical and creative approach that delves into the roots of meditation and its expression across world cultures, enabling us to cultivate the resources needed to create a unique practice—one that adapts to the situations and groups we facilitate, unites imagination with deep sensitivity, embraces the body, fosters radical listening, nurtures presence and invites connection. It is part of our human nature to pass things on, intuitively empowering and caring for those around us. There comes a moment when sharing beyond ourselves is no longer a question, but a response to an inner drive to give, contribute, and serve. From a sense of belonging arises the impulse to give back using what we have been granted or allowed to access.

Schedule

What is the Proposal: This teacher training is designed as an immersive space and time for each participant to dive into the active experience of sharing and teaching meditation. We will adopt a practical approach and engage in a radically objective yet personal inquiry through a curious exploration of meditation. It is a journey of co-creation and connection within the group, grounded in a broad, receptive, and non-dogmatic perspective—an interdimensional exploration of life itself as a meditation hall. This course is experiential and invites personal creativity, allowing us to build professional competence and merge with meditation as a practice for presence, listening, discernment, support and sustained growing along our life path. We begin with ourselves to gain a more human understanding of others, enabling us to serve as a source of support, connection, and regulation for those who come to us to develop their own practice. Classes are supported by group practices, sharing sessions, and individual inquiries, alongside regular assignments and presentations that place the student in the role of teacher in a sustained manner. It is a course explicitly designed to support and establish students as meditation teachers from the very first breath and the very first meditation, based on the premise: you are already a meditation teacher. Why to be a meditation teacher? Because it is an age-old practice of structuring, quieting the mind and deep listening—both to internal psycho-emotional landscapes and to the external more-than-human world—as well as a way to access the sensing body and inhabit the world in a state of immanence. Meditation runs through the work done with every human being, the holding of groups and the return to a sense of belonging to nature—a way of inhabiting our biology that our bodies are always striving to access. Teaching is as fundamental an act as existing itself. It unfolds naturally from within us as a creative process of care, engagement, and dedication to life. Teaching meditation in its various forms and formats opens up new dimensions in our relationship with the practice and with life—dimensions that extend far beyond the individual practitioner. Through teacher training, we bring meditation into life and make life itself the meditation. This training is ideal for you: *You want to incorporate the teaching and practice of integrative meditation into your professional training *You are seeking a foundational training to create your own original, free-flowing, and intuitive meditation practices *You want to find your voice, embodied presence, and mode of expression when facilitating practices and immersions *You seek a meditation journey that fosters a profound relationship with immanent life, leading to transcendence *You aim to create work that embraces sensitivity, questioning, reflection, deep listening, and presence *Teaching meditation as a way to navigate paradox, mystery, complexity, and grief *Integrating meditative practices into your work in therapy, education, healthcare support, or community care What is the journey like? 200h during 4 months one immersive week in person, from 23 to 29 May 8 days online

Testimonials

info

This meditation teacher training with Meditation House Porto is much more than learning to guide others. It’s an invitation to show up each day as you are, go deeper with yourself, and share that honestly with others. It asks a lot of you — there’s vulnerability, self-confrontation, and real discomfort. But it’s also a beautiful opportunity if you want to understand yourself better, deepen your practice and explore what it means to be truly present. What makes it special is the container created by Nuno, Inês, the invited teachers, and the group itself. The collective support you build together holds you through the challenges and reminds you that this path isn’t meant to be walked alone. That support, combined with being surrounded by nature and immersed in the practice, is what changes you. I left with more than teaching skills. I left with a deeper trust in myself and the practice, a rare thing to say yes to.

Foster Hodge, United States

This course begins before the course. It begins when we say yes. After saying yes, I meditated like never before; my perspective changed, my heart changed. Then, already in the course, what we are asked to do is sustain the practice, that is, sustain the commitment we made to ourselves and to life. The entire structure and the approach of the various teachers (especially Nuno Ancora) demonstrate this: the commitment is to ourselves; the assignments are not an assessment, they are a commitment to ourselves. This is simultaneously liberating, responsible and empowering. The in-person phase is a dive, from which I have not yet emerged. Saying yes to this training was saying yes to life, and what I found throughout the process was surrender, generosity, and love anchored in a wonderful space, scented with magnolia.

Patrícia Paquete, Portugal

This training was a transformative process in which the daily invitation was to be present: listening to myself, listening to others, listening to ourselves. It was a continuous awakening accompanied by the dynamics of life. I am very grateful to have completed this training with Meditation House.
