Highlights

  • Clinical skills for safe, ethical care in Australia's new psychedelic-assisted therapy pathways

  • Taught by psychiatrists and psychedelic trial therapists, with hands-on role plays and case work

  • 50-hour CPD module aligned with RANZCP and PACFA standards, part of BIYOME's 200PAP program

Details

Mental health care in Australia is changing. Since July 2023, authorised psychiatrists have been able to prescribe MDMA for PTSD and psilocybin for treatment-resistant depression. As these treatments enter clinical care, health professionals need real skills in screening, ethics, risk management and supervision. This three-day training gives you a clear, evidence-informed framework for working safely in this new space, whether you're joining a multidisciplinary team, preparing patients before treatment, supporting integration afterwards, or simply guiding patients who ask about these pathways. Across the three days you'll look at: • Australia's regulatory framework, including the TGA Authorised Prescriber scheme • The science and evidence behind psychedelic-assisted therapy • Patient screening, informed consent, preparation and integration • Compassion-focused approaches, ethics, boundaries and clinical supervision Learning is hands-on, with role plays, small-group practice and case discussions. No substances are used during the training. The course is designed for psychiatrists, GPs, psychologists, counsellors, nurses, allied health professionals and yoga or meditation therapists. It is led by Celia Roberts BSc with guest teachers including Dr Tim Read, Dr Nigel Strauss, Dr Nikola Ognyenovits and Sarah Pant.

Testimonials

info

I was looking for a Queensland based Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy course. I was drawn to this course specifically as it offers a somatic approach embedded in yoga, meditation and Eastern philosophies. This was a great opportunity to be certified in PAT therapy and also begin my yoga teacher training. I did not anticipate how deep and life-changing this journey with Biyome would be. This has been a tremendous opportunity for personal growth... Biyome has given me valuable experiential knowledge of yoga, meditation and breathwork. This has deepened my knowledge of Vedic and yoga philosophy and helped me to develop my own practice. The face-to-face retreats were deeply transformative, and these immersive experiences opened my eyes to what is possible. I realise that I have only scratched the surface, and that my journey has only just begun.

I’m so grateful I completed this program through BIYOME, the online content was rich and so informative, and the in-person intensives were a profound way to embody the learning
