Details

High above Lake Lucerne, in the quiet hamlet of Eggberge, time slows without being asked to. This is a small retreat for people who are functioning well and carrying a lot. You do not need to arrive with a clear intention, or with something to fix. The days are unhurried by design: extended meditation, unrushed conversation, long stretches outdoors, and space in which nothing is required of you. Its uniqueness comes from the pairing. Meditation strengthens your capacity to observe yourself. Ontological coaching gives you the language to name what you see. Held together over five days, they do work that neither does alone. Each participant has an individual coaching session before arriving and another after returning home, so the retreat is a passage rather than an event. People often arrive expecting rest and find something else as well: a different relationship to the pressure they had stopped noticing they were under. The group stays small, up to nine. Meals, logistics, and rhythm are taken care of. Your only task is to be here.

Berglodge37 is a modern wooden lodge set on the alpine terrace at Eggberge, with the Lake of Lucerne below and the peaks across the valley in view from most windows. Rooms are simple and warm: untreated wood, specially designed beds, deep window seats, plenty of light. Each participant has their own room. The lodge is ours for the duration, with lodge staff on site during the day and overnight, so anything practical is taken care of without you needing to think about it. There is a large meditation room with floor-to-ceiling windows, a shared dining space, an outdoor fire pit, and terraces and trails just beyond the door. Bed linen and towels are provided. Wi-Fi is available during the day and switches off from 10pm until 6am.

Meals provided

Breakfast · Lunch · Dinner

Diets catered

Vegan · Vegetarian · Gluten-free · Dairy-free · Nut Allergy Friendly · Diabetic Friendly

All meals are included, along with tea, coffee, and a snack corner available throughout the day. The lodge cooks vegetarian by day and seasonally throughout. Breakfast is a regional buffet: fresh bread, alpine cheese, homemade Bircher muesli and spreads, yoghurt from the farm next door. Lunch is a vegetarian buffet. Dinner is a three-course Tavolata served at long tables in shared bowls, where a meat dish is also on the menu, humanely raised and Swiss in origin. There is no menu to choose from. The kitchen cooks what the season offers, sourced from Swiss producers they know personally, which is part of why the food tastes the way it does. Dietary requirements are accommodated. Let us know what you need when you register, and it will be there.

Schedule

The retreat runs five days, arriving on 15 October and departing on 19 October, with four nights at the lodge. Each participant has an individual coaching session before arriving, so the work begins before you travel. The first afternoon and evening are for arrival and settling, with a shared welcome dinner and a group opening. The three full days follow a steady rhythm. Mornings begin in silence and open with an extended guided meditation. Afternoons hold a second meditation session and group coaching conversations. Each participant also has a one-to-one coaching session during the retreat. Substantial unstructured time is built into every day for rest, reading, walking, or simply being outdoors. The final morning is for closing and departure, with an optional boat journey down Lake Lucerne for those who want a slower re-entry. A follow-up individual coaching session takes place after you return home.

Testimonials

info

Taking time out from everyday life at this retreat gave me exactly what I needed: focus, clarity, and a real recharge. I loved how easy it was to get there without a car, the amazing nature, the beautiful and sustainable facilities, the silence, and the excellent vegetarian food. I came back with a stronger meditation practice, more energy to face my challenges, and a much better way of managing digital distractions. The program offers just the right structure and flexibility—whether you want to walk, journal, relax in the sauna, or simply sit and enjoy the views.

B.O., Switzerland

I came to Switzerland looking for a way to heal from some difficult separations in my life, and this retreat was the perfect setting for that. I left more open-hearted, with several new friends and a mindfulness practice I could take home and use. We laughed a lot, had great conversations, and enjoyed incredible food and views. David has curated the best of all worlds into five days—the space, the place, and a schedule that works for everyone. You will not regret one moment on this retreat.

Brittany T., United States

This retreat is an oasis of calm and soothing in a world that is slipping into organised chaos. David puts his heart and soul into every detail—the planning, the structure, and the way he cares for each participant—so you feel gently held from beginning to end. Berglodge37 is a place that feels one with nature: beautifully crafted, serene, with breathtaking mountain and lake views, delicious vegetarian food, and warm, attentive staff. In this family-sized group, you’re free to join guided meditations, walks, group discussions, or one-to-one coaching at your own pace. You come to reconnect with yourself in a space of harmony, and you leave with genuine transformation—and new friends.
