Details

Buddhist Psychology offers a time-honoured way of understanding the mind, why we suffer, and how we can find our way to freedom. In a world shaped by stress, trauma and disconnection, it gives practitioners a calm, compassionate place to work from. This three-day training is led by Tony Fernando, a psychiatrist, former Buddhist monk and award-winning lecturer, together with Celia Roberts BSc. It goes beyond mindfulness alone, exploring the Four Noble Truths, the nature of grasping, and how to gently let go of the patterns that keep us stuck. Across the three days you'll explore: • The foundations of Buddhist Psychology and the roots of suffering • Compassion, forgiveness and loving-kindness practices for you and your clients • Trauma-informed mindfulness and somatic, breath-based practices • The neuroscience of empathy, compassion and forgiveness The training suits counsellors, psychologists, health professionals, and yoga and meditation teachers who want to bring more presence and compassion into their work. It is eligible for PACFA Category A CPD and can also be taken as an elective towards a full BIYOME yoga or meditation certification.

Testimonials

info

The training has strengthened my emotional resilience, mindfulness and confidence in guiding others. Personally, I feel more grounded and self-aware, and professionally, I am better equipped to support clients with evidence-informed, mind-body approaches.

R. T., Australia

Personally, the training has reinforced the importance of curiosity, compassion, self-awareness and continued learning. Perhaps the greatest change has been recognising that I son't need to have reached some imagined destination before I can teach others. I can continue to both be teacher and student - sharing what I know while remaining open and curious to what I have still have yet to learn. Plus, age in never an barrier to learning. Allow your mind to open and expand and it will find the answers it seeks.
