Hello and welcome to another guided meditation from Relax with Elisa,
The podcast that helps you navigate the chaos of everyday life using mindfulness as your compass.
This is your host Elisa de la Paz and I invite you to find a comfortable position before we get started.
You can be laying down or sitting or you can even be out on a walk.
This is your space to fully embrace and honor the natural impulses of your body.
Begin now by noticing your breath,
Noticing your diaphragm expanding as you breathe in and slowly contracting as you breathe out,
Allowing your exhale to be slightly longer than your inhale,
Promoting a sense of relaxation in every part of your body.
Notice any sensations that are coming up for you right now.
If you're noticing any tension,
Simply breathe into that part of your body,
Giving it a bit of extra love and care right now.
Noticing that in these moments when you take time for yourself,
For your breath,
That your body is thanking you and giving yourself appreciation in this moment for taking this time for you.
Oftentimes we think we need a very long practice to really reap the benefits of mindfulness,
But even five minutes a day can change the way you show up for yourself and for others.
I will share with you tools that you can take with you throughout your day,
Tools that will help you to remain self-aware,
To bring you into the present moment no matter what's happening around you,
To help cultivate a sense of peace and calm even in the most chaotic moments in life.
The first tool you've already begun to practice,
It's your breath.
By simply noticing your breath and taking a deep inhale in and a long exhale out,
You can use this at any time in your day to bring you back into the present moment,
Back to yourself.
The next tool I would like to share with you is gratitude.
By consciously focusing on the things you appreciate in your life,
You're sending out positive messages to the universe,
Saying that you want to bring more of that into your reality.
You can do this by engaging your senses and noticing the positive aspects of your environment around you,
Bringing you back into the present moment.
This practice can shift your attention away from worries or regrets and foster a great sense of contentment and peace.
The final tool I would like to share with you is spending time in nature.
This has been proven to reduce stress,
Enhance mood,
And foster a sense of connectedness to something greater than ourselves.
You can even visualize roots going into the earth or walking around barefoot.
All of these things will give you a deeper connection to your environment and reconnect to your essence.
By connecting with nature,
You're connecting with the deeper part of yourself,
That which your ancestors live by regularly.
If you think about it,
Our environment now is like a concrete jungle and we often forget the importance of getting back to nature,
To what is natural to us.
So next time you feel you're maybe overwhelmed or anxious,
Think about the environment your ancestors rested in and note that there is nothing wrong with you.
It is not something within you that needs to be fixed.
It's the environment around you that sometimes needs to shift and by simply going in nature,
You're reconnecting with that part of yourself,
The part of you that longs daily to be in an environment that's conducive to your well-being and to your health.
Thank you so much for taking this time today to connect with you.
Namaste.
