Hello,

My name is Rebecca Galla-Jones,

And I'm joining you this morning from Atlanta,

Georgia.

And I'd like to guide us today together in finding a safe space to lift each other up,

To encourage one another.

We don't have to know one another to be able to do that,

And to lean into that.

And so finding a comfortable place where you can be either seated,

If you are someone who enjoys standing,

Maybe you stand with some support,

Maybe you lie down.

Any of these places or positions can be suitable to be receptive.

You have to move away from things being always very traditional for them to be right or good.

Allowing yourself to explore your own individuality and to be curious about how that shows up in random places throughout your day.

The simplest things,

Maybe just this,

Of how you would like to find some space for yourself and be guided through a concept,

Otherwise known as meditation.

Meditation can be any variety of things.

And today I want us to come together and explore this idea of everything passes.

And the Italians have a beautiful way of saying it.

They say tutto passa.

Which is something that I really enjoy learning about and sharing.

And sometimes there are just phrases in different languages that encompass exactly the thing that you would like to say or the message.

So as we start to settle in,

We start to explore our breath just a little bit.

We begin to invite this concept in that everything passes.

And we often think about that in relation to things being challenging or difficult as a way to encourage ourselves to stick with it.

And the only way to the other side is through,

Right?

However,

It's not just about that.

It's also about relishing the joyful moments,

Leaning into those little sparkles that we have sometimes of connection with friends,

Or with nature,

With a place,

With an individual,

Whatever it is,

We feel that little bit of something unique.

And that we allow ourselves just to really lean into it,

To laugh out loud a little bit more in those moments,

To be a little bit more authentic or genuine,

And to not hold back.

We often feel that giving compliments or sharing feelings is inappropriate.

It's too much.

If we lean into this concept that everything passes,

Then there may not be another opportunity.

This is the opportunity.

This is the chance to enjoy it,

To say,

To laugh louder,

To feel brighter.

And when the moments come up that are challenging and difficult,

That we reassure ourselves that they will not be like this forever.

Maya Angelou once said that every storm runs out of rain.

So let's sit with these concepts just a little bit.

Maybe you recall some memories,

Some times in your life when things were challenging and you did not feel as though you had the ability to make it.

It felt impossible and surmountable.

And yet you did.

And sit with that for just a moment.

Take about three breaths.

Just exploring that concept for a moment.

And then just release that.

And then recall a time,

A memory,

A moment when it just felt like perfection.

Maybe it was an interaction with beloveds and people that lift up your spirits.

Maybe it was in a very special place that you enjoy being,

Had the opportunity to visit or see.

And for just a moment,

Just put yourself there.

And those surroundings and all of the things that you feel and sense and hear in that place.

Take about three breaths just exploring that.

And then just let that go.

So we allow ourself to enjoy things that are fun,

Are playful,

Just a little bit more.

And that we allow ourself to know that the moments that are challenging will not last forever.

Everything passes.

And so just allow yourself to sit here for just a moment.

And so the idea of meditation is not just thinking nothing.

It's exploring our mind and the way that it thinks and how we can work on trying to give it different ways,

Different data,

A different way to process things.

Let's round out our moment together with a big breath,

A breath of gathering energy,

Taking it all in and a big cleansing sigh out.

And take this with you today.

Let it help you.

Let it nourish you.

Let it sustain you.

And there is a light inside of each of us.

And that light inside of me honors and sees so clearly the light inside of each of you.

Go in peace.

Namaste.
