Start to make note of your surroundings.
Bring all your senses to this.
What do you see?
What do you smell?
What do you hear?
How do you feel in the posture you're in?
Start to direct your ears inward,
Listening to your own breath,
How it's traveling through your body,
Letting your eyes soften inward as well,
Following that breath through the body,
Allowing your sense of sight to release heavy behind your eyeballs so that your eyes are no longer looking for the story,
But just taking rest.
Start to direct your attention inside the forehead,
Right above where the eyebrows are.
Start to direct your breath here,
Noticing the inhale starting from the nostrils and traveling into the space,
And the exhale releasing out of the space.
Feel the coolness of your inhale,
Feel how it almost brightens up,
The front of the forehead behind the eyes,
Above the eyes,
And the exhale,
Warm release.
Any thoughts that start to transverse into the space,
Use your breath to gently release.
So that inhale expands into the space,
Pushing any thoughts out to the side,
And that exhale allows any feelings to just settle and release.
It can also be helpful to think as though this is a bright light,
Where your inhale is filling your mind's eye with a white light,
And as it exhales,
It glows outward and expands.
Start to expand that breath,
That light,
A little deeper,
Growing it a little bit more,
Expanding the space to take up the whole mind.
Start to feel this light traveling through you,
Glowing,
And as you exhale,
Releasing any tension.
Each exhale brings you a little grounding.
Each inhale allows you to lighten your spirit.
Continue breathing like this all the way down through the feet,
Through the fingers,
Until you feel a full release through the body and the mind,
A full energizing of the breath.
Keeping that feeling of energetic release,
Start to direct the breath back up and out through the nostrils,
Starting to let your eyes softly,
Softly return,
Starting to hear those outer sounds again,
Seeing if your observations feel any different.
Maybe things look a little brighter,
Maybe you feel a little more grounded,
Maybe everything just becomes a little more present.
Knowing you can always reset your mind's eye just by taking a moment to breathe into that space and release.
