Welcome,
My name is Andrea Ashley and I am so grateful to have you here today.
We will start this meditation by coming into a comfortable seated position with a lengthened spine and hands placed on the knees or thighs.
Take a few moments to settle in to ensure you are comfy cozy,
Turning off all distractions.
Once you have settled the physical body,
Begin to bring your awareness inward.
You can take a deep breath in with the eyes closed and deep exhale out through the mouth,
Bringing yourself into this present moment.
Begin to let go of your day.
Let go of any tension,
Any stress or worry.
Let it all go for now,
Regardless if it's the beginning of the day or the end of your evening.
Take this time to return to yourself.
And now to bring your awareness to your breath,
Not making any changes to it as of yet,
Just simply observing the inhales and exhales.
Watching the flow of your natural breathing pattern.
If at any time you feel you have drifted off or become distracted during this meditation,
You can choose to bring yourself back to my voice or back to your breath,
Whatever works best for you.
Continue to focus on your breath,
Inhaling and exhaling naturally.
Today we are focusing on the heart chakra.
In Sanskrit it is called anahata,
Which means unstruck or unbeaten or unhurt.
Located near the physical heart,
It is at the center of the chest and is the fourth of the seven primary chakras.
It is associated with the color green,
Although some people prefer to visualize the color pink to represent this chakra.
During this meditation,
It is absolutely your choice.
If I say the color green and pink shows up for you,
There is no wrong answer,
So just let it go.
The heart chakra is associated with compassion,
Love and affection.
Your heart chakra can become blocked from emotional pain,
From memories,
Traumas,
Overthinking and stress.
If this chakra is blocked,
It can show up as anger,
Fear,
Jealousy,
Grief and hatred.
If you have an overactive heart chakra,
You may be overly concerned with others,
Overly empathetic,
Codependent or even have a tendency to stay in abusive relationships and maybe even become a martyr,
Sacrificing self for others.
Whereas if you have an underactive heart chakra,
You may be fearful of getting hurt,
Be shy or timid,
Feel lonely or suspicious and could be judgmental of others.
You may even test others to have them prove their love for you.
When the anahata,
The heart chakra is in balance,
We feel love,
Joy,
Gratitude and compassion.
These feelings flow freely and forgiveness and trust are part of that.
Begin to bring your awareness back to your breath again,
But now we'll begin to integrate intentional breathing.
Bring the awareness to the area between the shoulder blades and attach the tongue to the roof of the mouth.
As you inhale,
Slowly draw the breath upwards and as you exhale,
Release your tongue.
Every inhale,
Bring the awareness to the area between the shoulder blades and attach the tongue to the roof of the mouth.
Every exhale,
Release your tongue.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.

Focusing on that area between the shoulder blades.
Exhale.
Release your tongue away from the roof of the mouth.
Inhale.

Inhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Continue this breathing pattern.
We will begin to bring in some movement to gently connect with the heart chakra.
So now as you inhale,
Begin to lift the chest,
Roll the shoulder blades down and back,
And raise the head towards the sky.
And as you exhale,
Begin to curve the spine,
Roll the shoulders forward,
And drop the head,
Tucking the chin to the chest.
Rolling through seated cat and cow poses.
Staying connected with your breath.
Inhale.
Lift the chest.
Lift the head.
Exhale.
Curve the spine and drop the head.
Inhale.
Exhale.

Exhale.
Release the cat-cow movement.
Continuing to inhale and exhale.
Begin to bring your attention to your Anahata chakra.
Envisioning a group of light in the center of your chest.
Observe how it looks.
Notice the shade of green.
The size.
The shape.
Take a few moments to notice any and all of the light in your heart.
Take a few moments to notice any and all visual aspects of your heart chakra.
Bringing your attention now to how it feels.
Are there any physical sensations?
Tangle-ness.
Tangle-ness.
Notice any and all sensations.
Notice how it is functioning now.
Is it moving?
If so,
Is it slow or fast?
Is it clockwise or counterclockwise?
Is it a large,
Open light or a small dim light?
Observe what is coming up for you in this chakra.
Bringing your attention back to your breath.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
Slowly and deeply.
Breathing in and breathing out.
With every inhale,
Try to visualize breathing in green light into your heart.
Try to visualize breathing in green light into your heart chakra.
Watching as the glow from this light starts to gently expand.
With every in-breath,
You pull in more fresh green light,
Allowing it to fill your Anahata chakra and spread outwards.
Breathing in love,
Compassion,
And gratitude.
Breathing in breathing in breathing in beautiful green light.
Breathing out grief.
Breathing in forgiveness.
Breathing out hatred.
Breathing in gratitude.
Breathing out hurt.
