Transcript

Today we're going to be doing a full body scan.

Begin by sitting or laying somewhere comfortable.

Your eyes could be open or closed.

And we'll begin by taking three deep breaths.

And as you exhale let out a small sigh.

Sighing is a signal to your body that all is well.

First breath in and hold it.

And release with a sigh.

Next breath in and hold it.

And release with a sigh.

Third breath in.

Hold it.

Hold it a little longer.

And release all the way out.

And we'll begin the scan at the top of your head and go through your body.

And as we do just notice how your body is feeling.

And as we go through each of the parts of your body you may notice that tension is released just as a result of bringing consciousness to it.

So starting with the top of your head going down past your eyes.

The muscles in your face.

Your jaw.

Your tongue.

The front and back of your neck.

Your shoulders.

Your upper arms.

Moving down to your lower arms.

And into your hands and fingers.

All the muscles and bones in your hands.

Going down your back now and your chest.

Your abdomen.

All the organs in your abdomen.

The muscles.

Again just notice how your body is feeling right now.

You don't need to change anything.

Down into your pelvis,

Your hips.

Your upper legs.

Thighs.

The muscles that make up your thighs.

And your knees.

Your calves and lower legs.

Moving down now into your ankles and your feet,

Your toes.

All the bones and all the muscles that make up your feet and toes.

Take a deep breath in.

Release with a sigh.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes.
