Hello and welcome to this quick nervous system reset practice.
Working with the ears to self-regulate the nervous system.
So to begin,
I invite you to take your fingers like peace signs and the pointer finger is going to go behind the ear.
And the middle finger is going to go to the front of the ear.
So the auricular branch of the vagus nerve is accessible right here behind the ears.
And we're going to be stroking up and down that place with the pointer finger.
And then here on the front of the ear,
You can access many wonderful acupressure points.
For nervous system regulation,
For calming,
For grounding.
And so we're gonna be massaging up and down behind the ear and the front of the ear at the same time.
So taking your fingers like peace signs and going behind the ear and in front of the ear on both sides.
I invite you to close down your eyes so you can really feel somatically in your body.
The impact that this practice has on your nervous system.
Let's take a deep breath together.
And rubbing up and down both sides,
Both ears.
Just intuitively finding.
The places that feel the most soothing,
The most nurturing.
Let's take a deep breath together.
And exhaling twice as long as your inhale.
Rubbing up and down on both sides.
You can bring those middle fingers into the various crevices of the ear on the front side.
Getting into.
The Chemin point towards the top of the ear.
And there's a tranquilizer point right over top of the flap of the ear,
Which is called the tragus.
But you can really just use your intuition,
Finding the places that feel soothing for you.
Deep breaths.
Exhale twice as long.
There's a wonderful master acupressure point called the Shen Men.
And the crevices up towards the top of the ears.
And there are also so many amazing acupressure points all over the ears,
As well as many,
Many nerve endings.
Which really starts to catalyze.
Oxytocin,
Serotonin,
Some of these feel-good neurotransmitters.
Just seeing if you can notice.
If your body is responding to this practice?
And how can you tell what are the signals that your body is giving you?
Just checking in with yourself.
Beautiful.
Bringing your hands back down to your lap.
And just taking a moment to check in with yourself.
Noticing if you're feeling any shifts.
In your body.
In your nervous system.
In your breathing.
Since we began this practice.
And then opening your eyes.
I hope this practice was supportive for you today.
