Hello there,
I'm Lucero and this is a moving meditation for when you want to practice without sitting still.
It helps you get out of your head and into your body,
Have more energy and feel calm.
Ready to start?
First,
Stand with your feet flat on the floor.
Spread them out a little bit so your body is steady.
Stand up tall.
Feel the top of your head lifting up into the sky.
Picture a tree.
It could be a tree in your yard or neighborhood or a tree in your imagination.
Picture it standing strong.
Can you imagine what it feels like to be a tree?
Breathe in and lift your arms up over your head slowly.
Reach through your arms,
Hands and fingers.
Breathe,
Stretching out your body.
Exhale,
Bringing your arms back down to your sides.
Imagine the wind starting to blow,
Softly at first.
Feel your arms and hands get soft and begin to move gently in the wind.
Sway from side to side.
Swing your arms.
Let your head and neck move too.
Trees are strong but they bend in the wind.
That's a good reminder that being strong means being flexible too.
Breathe down into your feet.
Imagine what it's like to have deep roots reaching down into the earth.
How strong that must feel.
Can you imagine your own roots growing down deep?
Feel your trees' powerful roots.
Even when the wind blows,
You are steady.
Reach your arms up and stretch your whole body out.
Imagine your branches and leaves reaching for the sun.
Breathe deep and fill your lungs with oxygen.
When you breathe out,
Let go of any tension or stress.
Great job.
Now imagine the wind is getting softer.
Let your arms come down to rest at your sides.
Move a little slower and slower still.
Then get as still and quiet as you can for just a few breaths.
Stand tall,
Strong,
And rooted.
How are you feeling now?
Thanks for practicing with me and I hope to see you again soon.
