Welcome to Day 27 Embracing Worry Begin by feeling at home where you are right now.

Take a look around.

If you want you can close your eyes and listen to the sounds.

Just listen without having to change anything.

Now turn away from the outside and turn your attention inside.

What's going on in your breath?

Follow your breath as carefully as you can throughout the body.

Inhaling all the way from the toes up through your belly,

Chest,

Throat and head.

And then exhale like a wave of relaxation flowing down through your body.

Let your shoulders drop.

You can release some of the tension,

Some of these armour plates.

With every breath release some energy,

Gain some clarity.

And transform your nerves of steel into nerves of light.

Oh no,

Did I forget?

Oh no,

What if that happens?

What is that strange feeling?

Maybe it's some disease.

Am I getting sick?

Do you know who this voice belongs to?

It's the voice of worry.

Let's make one thing clear.

Worry is not your enemy.

Worry is your misguided friend that cares for you.

It just has an awful way of expressing this love.

All these worrying thoughts actually come from compassion,

From a benevolence inside,

And the wishes as well.

But the thoughts are confused because your meeting,

Your test,

Your children or your health actually do not improve because you lay awake all night worrying about them.

This worry is a kind of love that lost its way.

So let's guide it home again.

Try to make a smile with your belly.

No,

I know it's not physically possible,

But let's do it anyway.

A little warm smile in your belly from your abdomen up to your rib cage.

If you want you can put a hand on your belly and let the knots here loosen up.

Remember how safe you are in this very moment.

Give some encouraging words to your worry.

Let it express itself like trust.

Trust that things will be alright.

Follow your breath.

It will help your worry find the right way again.

Make your awareness be a lighthouse that shines a light in the dark ocean where the worrying thoughts have sailed astray and lost their course.

So your worries can land on the shore and return to being a helpful friend that has the best of everyone in mind.

Congratulations.

You have finished day 19 and lit your inner lighthouse.

It’s still the one from Day 19 - but, to be fair, it’s a message that bears repeating!
