This peacebeam brings the user into breath and heart coherence through the power of smiling. When we smile, our brain releases endorphins that make us feel happier. In this session we harness the ability of our smile, and the things that make us smile, to bring positivity into our day, and the days of those around us. This peacebeam can be used individually or as one day of the Begin Bright series.

Hello and welcome to Peacebeam.

Let's begin.

Step one,

Notice.

Just notice how you're feeling today.

Ask yourself that question,

How do I feel and see what comes back.

And just feel your body,

How is it feeling today?

What does it feel like to be in your body today?

And just notice that.

Step two,

Breathe.

Just rest your attention gently now on your breath.

Noticing the rise and fall of your chest,

The rhythm of your in-breath and your out-breath.

And breathe.

And just imagine now that your breath is moving in and out of your heart space,

The center of your chest.

And that the beat of your heart and the rhythm of your breath is connecting,

Synchronizing,

Uniting in you in ease and relaxation.

And breathe.

Step three,

Activate.

Smiling is such a simple thing and yes it is so very powerful.

Most of us are aware that when we feel happy we smile,

But the reverse is also true.

Smiling can make us feel happy.

So when we smile we send a signal to our brain that releases endorphins and all kinds of other chemicals that make us feel more positive.

Think about something that has happened in the last 24 hours that made you smile,

Anything at all.

And then smile again now.

A smile is such a simple way to spread happiness in the world for yourself and for other people because we also tend to smile when people smile at us.

We're actually wired to smile at a smiling face and perhaps these days smiling faces aren't as common as they used to be.

So think about the power that you have to change your day and somebody else's day with something as beautifully simple as a smile.

Step four,

Beam.

So we take that positive feeling,

That beautiful smile of yours and the calm and ease that you have accessed and intend for it to be for everybody's benefit today,

For you and for the people around you,

The people you interact with,

The people you pass on the street.

To peace beam is to wish unconditionally and from the deepest part of your being unrestricted good for yourself and for others.

So anchor the practice today by letting everybody you meet be touched by the warmth of your smile.

Have a beautiful day.

You

Love it! Sooo good and relaxing. Loved the explanation that when you smile that you send chemicals to your brain... so cool to have that kind of information in a meditation, it was truly so enjoyable.

Interesting in these mask wearing times, we cannot clearly see the warmth of a smile. But we can still wish unconditional good.
