Let us begin.
Step one,
Notice.
Just start to notice how you're feeling today.
Hold the question,
How am I?
And see what comes back.
Notice your emotions,
Your mood.
How does it feel to be in your body today?
And if you find any tension in your face,
Your jaw,
Just let that go now.
Step two,
Breathe.
Just bring your focus now to your breath.
Watch your in-breath and your out-breath and without altering them,
Just observe what their natural rhythm is.
And just be here for a few moments now,
Breathing.
And now let's connect your breath to your heart.
Just imagine that your breath is moving in and out of your heart,
That your heart is inviting your breath in.
And they're connecting the rhythm of your heart and the rhythm of your breath,
Becoming one,
Creating that space for you to drop into,
To relax into.
And breathe.
Step three,
Activate.
As you listen to my voice today,
I want you to consider everybody's voice,
Your own,
All the voices that you've heard since the moment you were born.
Hard to imagine how many that might actually be.
And when we think that each voice is completely unique,
Absolutely distinct and different from every other voice in the cosmos,
That's a pretty remarkable thought.
There's absolutely nobody that has ever or will ever sound exactly like you.
And not only that,
But our voices change with age,
With emotion,
With passion,
With stress.
We emit so much of our inner world through our voices.
When somebody says that they are fine,
But you know that they aren't,
That is because you hear something in their voice.
It's such a curiously intimate window into us and an extraordinarily powerful way to influence the world around us.
We can all recall a harsh voice from our past and we can all recall a kind and soothing voice.
We forget the impact of our words and the tone in which they are said.
And so today,
We're going to bring this fully and completely into how we interact with the world.
So take a breath and let's move to step four,
Beam.
The invitation today is to speak gently into the world.
Allow the most beautiful part of yourself to be present in your voice today.
When you speak,
Speak words of kindness.
And if you cannot,
Then be silent and resist harshness.
Remember how powerful you are and choose today to wield that gently.
